This month we would like to recognize Paula Lund as the Volunteer Spotlight this month.<\/p>\n
Paula recently moved to America from Australia and lives in Moline, IL.\u00a0 She is an accounting professional. She has been volunteering here at the Playhouse for about 6 months and is passionate about supporting the community and the wonderful individuals who have Down syndrome and their families.<\/p>\n
How did you hear about GiGi\u2019s Playhouse?<\/strong><\/p>\n I saw the sign lit up, at night, while traveling along John Deere expressway, when I was visiting here at Christmas.\u00a0 As a parent of a 21 year old son with Down syndrome, I wanted to learn more.<\/p>\n Why did you choose GiGi\u2019s as a place to volunteer?<\/strong><\/p>\n My son, Joshua, is 21 years old.\u00a0 Joshua has Down Syndrome and when I learnt more about GiGi\u2019s, I was so impressed with the amazing services provided.\u00a0 Joshua would have benefited greatly from having attended a GiGi\u2019s playhouse.\u00a0 I want to help where I can, being a parent and understanding that this amazing support is an invaluable service, to help our unique, and loving children develop and grow, to be the remarkable young adults I see, both with my son, and the individuals I have met through GiGi\u2019s so far.\u00a0 I am extremely proud to be a part of the GiGi\u2019s family.<\/p>\n What has your experience been here at the Playhouse? <\/strong><\/p>\n The families I have met are amazing and inspiring.\u00a0 Both Jenn and Pam have been great to work with and are both incredible people.\u00a0 I am so impressed by GiGi\u2019s and the programs provided.\u00a0 The individuals and families I have met have great support at the playhouse, it is a pleasure to see the development of every participant who attends the programs.<\/p>\n What do you want others to know about volunteering at the Playhouse?<\/strong><\/p>\n Volunteering at GiGi\u2019s is not only rewarding, it is inspiring.<\/p>\n Tell us about your favorite moment\/experience while volunteering.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Halloween party!\u00a0 Seeing everyone dressed up and having fun.<\/p>\n
