Volunteer Opportunities Spring 2021

Thank you for visiting our blog to learn more about specific volunteer opportunities available this spring/summer!

GiGi’s is a 99% volunteer-run organization and we need your help!

Don’t see a role listed that interests you? Reach out and we can discuss more options, plus there are short-term or date-specific opportunities on the monthly volunteer sign-up! We’ll share that link below!

Volunteer Coordinator

Would you like to help communicate and train new volunteers?
This is a small commitment of 1-2 hours a week mostly from home when you have time. You would work closely with staff to respond to new volunteer interest forms, oversee the monthly volunteer orientation, and follow up with new volunteers as needed.

Virtual Program Facilitator

Virtual programs require having someone to facilitate the program.
This means launching the virtual platform, greeting participants, and helping with technology issues as needed. You choose the program which means it could be once a week or once a month for 1-2 hours at a time.

Marketing Intern

We’ve been lucky to have Ava our current Marketing Intern for almost a year now, but it’s almost time for her to move on to the next best thing.
We are looking for a Marketing Intern willing to volunteer for 1-2 hours per week. This person will create graphics, flyers, and social media posts. Most of the time can be spent remotely.

Program Leaders/CoLeaders

All programs here at GiGi’s are lead by volunteer leaders! Leaders work with staff and are provided additional training specific to the program they wish to lead. Is there a specific age group that you’d love to work with? Leaders also plan and facilitate program activities. This is a great way to get to know the families and participants! Leading a program is a commitment of 1-2 hours a week (could be more or less depending on the program).

Tutors for Summer 2021

Summer is just around the corner! Applications for tutors are now open. The summer session begins the week of May 30th and is 10 weeks long.

Additional training provided!

Program Greeter/Assistant

As we work to transition back to in-person programs it will be important to have a volunteer greeter meeting families at the door to welcome them to the Playhouse, ensure they sign-in for programs, and are following COVID procedures. Once the program begins the greeter can then mingle with families, assist the leaders, and more! This is a commitment of 1-2 hours a week (could be more or less depending on the program).

Board Members

Community members with fundraising, marketing, and/or education backgrounds are welcome to apply to become a board member. Our board oversees the operations and financials of the Playhouse. They meet once a month and volunteer at various events throughout the year.

If you’re interested in helping with any of the above or would like to learn more, please contact the Playhouse. 309-762-7529 or volunteerquadcities@gigisplayhouse.org

If you’ve attended the Volunteer Orientation and complete observations and you’re not sure what the next steps are, please consider joining us on May 4th for a conversation to navigate the volunteer journey. You can RSVP to attend via the website calendar.
