“i have a Voice” Virtual Gala April 25th

Join us for a night of inspiration for the 2020 “i have a Voice” Gala with the theme, “A Voice For All Seasons”. This event is an opportunity for families, donors, volunteers, and other community members to celebrate achievements and change the way people view Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all. Volunteer Appreciation Week April 19th-25th

With over 3,900 volunteer hours at GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities in 2019, we cannot do what we do without our amazing volunteers and we want to celebrate them! Stay tuned as GiGi’s is planning some extra special things for our volunteers.

Programs

**ALL Programs are canceled through April 7th**

LMNOP (Language, Music N’ Our Peeps (0-3 years)

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. The theme will be baby animals! We recommend this program for ages birth-3 years.

2 & Under (0-2 years)

2 and Under is the perfect place for children to meet new friends, learn and grow; while parents have the opportunity to socialize and network with one another!

Teen Tastic (13-17) & Fantastic Friends (18+)

Teen Tastic promotes friendship, social interactions, communication through a variety of social activities, outing, and games for teens. Participants in Teen Tastic gain confidence, leadership skills, and empowerment while working as part of a team or on individual projects and tasks.

Fantastic Friends program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual fun setting. Adult participants participate in the planning of activities so that group activities are based on personal interests.

Parent University Webinar (Parents/Guardians)

The ABCs of Advocating for Your Child – An IEP is more than just a program for your child while in school. The IEP is a blueprint, or plan, for setting and achieving goals. We will work together and discuss how to be a strong advocate for your child and how to navigate through the tangled system of rules and regulations. Also join us for an interview with Shay Bieder from Integrated Touch for Kids to learn news ways to help our children cope.

Playhouse Pals (5-8 years) and Kids Club (9-12 years)

Playhouse Pals and Kid’s Club are teaming up to this month for a family theme. Playhouse Pals is an interactive and engaging program. We support the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. Kids Club supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting.

Destination Discovery (all ages)

Supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. All ages welcome. The theme for Destination Discovery will be St Patrick’s Day! Wear your green.

Friends, Fun & Fitness (13 and up)

Our friends get together for physical activity and healthy eating tips, tailored just for teens and adults! Friends, Fun & Fitness is provided in cooperation with Crossfit OC3. Registration is required for this program. Space is limited for this program so it is crucial that you RSVP/Register to participate. The deadline to register is April 23rd. After that date, you will need to contact the staff at the Playhouse to see if space is still available. Registering below signs you up for all 6 sessions and you are expected to attend each date. The dates are as follows: April 30th, May 7th, May 14th, May 21st, May 28th, June 4th

GiGiFIT Teen (13-17 years)

All new fitness program beginning February 6 and meeting every Thursday for 12 weeks! The program will be led by Paige Kelly, DPT. Applications are closed. GiGiFIT Teen introduces the key movements (MMPT Principles) of foundational exercises, hip strengthening exercises, and vestibular/balance exercises. Registration is closed.

Social Dancing (13 and up)                                          

GiGi’s is partnering with QC SoDa the local Social Dancing club to bring you Social Dance. QC SoDa will be leading a 9 week (10 sessions) of a dance chosen by the group of participants (ballroom, salsa, waltz, etc). The dance will then be performed on April 25th at the “i have a Voice” Gala. Registration is closed.
