We laugh, dance, eat…

This is the third in a series of blog articles related to the upcoming “i have a voice” Gala. Last week we heard from Brian and he told you that “Gala is a blast” This week we introduce you to Mayra and Maricela. They are from Muscatine, Iowa. For those of you that are not aware, GiGi’s provides services to all of the Quad Cities and surrounding areas, including Muscatine. Below you will see how passionate Mayra is about GiGi’s and the Gala.

How did you hear about GiGi’s Playhouse? Muscatine AEA

How long have you been participating in programming here at GiGi’s? About 3 years

If you were to pick one thing to say about GiGi’s, what would be the #BestofAll you would like to share?

Anybody who know our family knows how much we value and appreciate GiGi’s playhouse. They have provided us with so many resources, like literacy tutoring and even parent support systems. We’ve learned to celebrate every accomplishment, even the little ones.

Why is Gala important to you?

It’s a great way to celebrate Down syndrome and an awesome way to spread awareness. Plus, it’s a fun time!

Tell us about your family/friends/coworkers that will attend with you?

Our family, friends and our church have always been so encouraging and so willing to help our family and whatever else Maricela may need. We appreciate every single one! I’m hoping to rally enough people to reserve a few tables.

Would you encourage others to attend?

A million times yes!

Gala is seriously so much fun. We laugh, dance, eat and it’s always so sweet to see the kiddos dancing.

As Mayra mentioned above, part of the evening is enjoying some of our participants and their dance moves. Who can say no to that? Please join us on March 4, 2017 at the iWireless Center in Moline, IL. Additional information can be seen under the events tab here on the website.
