A Good Difference!

Being a part of GiGi’s is being inspired by people who make a GOOD DIFFERENCE…No Facebook poses necessary. No turning down the music volume or calming the enthusiasm.

Meeting people who are kind and happy and want to share time with you. You’ve just walked into the GOOD DIFFERENCE of GiGi’s Playhouse.

Ten years is a milestone. One that I have had the pleasure of sharing. I have had the privilege of learning from so many dynamic people, each having their own reasons for stepping inside and giving us a chance…a chance to make a GOOD DIFFERENCE in their own lives.

I have been fortunate to listen, to share and join hands with a team of DIFFERENCE MAKERS…always doing what is needed to grow our educational and therapeutic-based programs for those with a Down syndrome diagnosis…progressive programs for all ages with a commitment to ALWAYS providing everything FREE.

I have watched participant leaders like Brett, Colie, Daniel, Fletcher, Jaquai, Lexi, Meghan, Kaitlyn and so many more grow together. More than 1,000 have now joined them as participants making a GOOD DIFFERENCE.

In case you are new to GiGi’s, I would like you to meet Brett, just one of our original DIFFERENCE MAKERS. He is our Honorary Mayor, recognized by donors, volunteers, staff and program partners to be available for whatever is needed to welcome everyone.

Through the years, Brett shares that GiGi’s “just feels like home”.  Participating in more than 10 programs, he is also recognized as a retired advocate on our Board of Directors. He has co-chaired the GiGi’s Gala, welcomed Gala guests and celebrated GiGi’s as our Prom King. He has worked as a volunteer with our youngest participants in LMNOP and supports our office team. He is a proud member of GiGi’s Youth Board, a GiGi U graduate and a member of our Studio Café work intern program. Brett tells his story every year raising money for his favorite programs.  He always makes a GOOD DIFFERENCE.

From one of Brett’s blogs…he says it best.

“GiGi’s Playhouse makes me smile and it makes me happy to have a special place to belong. I love to work hard and do a good job. I am very proud of myself. I am a special guy…I think so, and so does my family!

Please come for a visit, I will give you a tour and greet you with a BIG smile, a BIG hug, and an amazing cup of coffee! Maybe you will then have another place to call home, just like me!”
