When we think about the spirit of GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County, we think of Georgia Shean. Georgia, 25, is a proud participant and contributor in our Wednesday night adult programs, GiGiFIT Adult and Fantastic Friends. She has logged over 100 hours of participation since April 2024 and rarely, if ever, misses a week. Always up for having a good time, she attends all of our special events, including Trunk or Treat, the “Grease” birthday bash, and line dancing lessons.

Beyond her incredible heart, Georgia is a true leader in our group. She’s reliable, caring, and always willing to lend a helping hand. If you need a ride to the Playhouse, you can count on her to help make it happen to ensure that you don’t have to miss a class. If you are a reluctant newcomer, she is there to help gently guide and encourage you to feel comfortable.

Her passion for life extends outside of GiGi’s too, as she works at PetSmart as a dog groomer, where she shares her love for animals every day. Her dream is to one day adopt a pitbull, a breed she adores.

And of course, we can’t talk about Georgia without mentioning her signature style – her fabulous red lipstick and fashionable flair are nothing short of iconic. She brings so much light, laughter, and love to our Playhouse. She embodies everything we celebrate in our Best of All participants. Georgia, you truly are simply fabulous, and we are so lucky to have you always on our minds and in our hearts.

For well over a year, she has been a consistent, joyful presence – rarely missing a week. Though she was initially unsure about attending, since she does not have Down syndrome, Georgia was seeking a community where she could make new friends, advocate for individuals with special needs, and simply have a good time. And if there’s one thing she knows how to do, it’s have a great time while lifting up those around her. From the moment she walks through our doors, she is met with hugs from all sides.

Georgia radiates kindness, calm, and a natural sense of safety, making everyone – especially our non-verbal participants – feel seen, heard, and understood. She has an innate gift for helping others communicate, stepping in gently to bridge conversations and foster connections. Listening to her speak, with her soft British accent, is like hearing a sweet melody – her words are soothing, thoughtful, and often spark the most meaningful conversations.

If you or someone you know is 18 or older and looking for a safe, free, and fun spot to hang out and make new friends, check our calendar and sign up for GiGiFIT and Fantastic Friends, held every Wednesday night starting at 5 PM. Georgia will be there – and she’d love to meet you.
