\"\"My name is Melanie Gaynor and I am a senior at Tulane University. I am interested in becoming a part of GiGi\u2019s Playhouse because of their dedication to bettering the lives of those with Down syndrome in so many ways! I love that no matter what one\u2019s background is, individuals with Down syndrome are able to access the free services at GiGi\u2019s. Since I have lived in New Orleans for three years now, I recognize the benefits of having a GiGi\u2019s Playhouse in our city, and I am so excited to see the growth in opportunities and acceptance for people with Down syndrome over the coming months.<\/p>\n

I am inspired by the five core\u00a0values that\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0stands by because they radiate positivity and aim to better the community though there may be obstacles in the way. I believe that keeping these core values in mind during the different programs offered is the true key to\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0success nationwide.<\/p>\n

GiGi\u2019s\u00a0Playhouse not only provides services and resources for people with Down syndrome and their families, but also aims to end the stigma of Down syndrome among members of the community through the Generation G program. It is incredible to witness the good that is done for a community through the work of\u00a0GiGi\u2019s, and I am thankful to be given the opportunity to volunteer my time and effort to such a worthy cause.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
