She is originally from the southwest border of Texas and Mexico. After her graduation from Loyola University, she worked in management for Target and New Balance. She volunteers to help with child-centered events and maintain community parks in Algiers Point. A 2024 graduate of Texas State University, Ali holds a degree in Recreation Administration with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation and is a Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS). Before relocating to New Orleans in January 2025, she spent three years at The Adventurers Academy of Lifelong Learning in Austin, Texas-a nonprofit organization focused on building independence skills in adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ali is passionate about fostering an environment where everyone can achieve their &#8220;Best of All&#8221;!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Alison Miller, Coordinadora de Programas y Operaciones<\/h3>\n<p>Alison (Ali) es la Coordinadora de Programas y Operaciones en GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse New Orleans. He started his career with Arthur Andersen and in 2002 moved to EY, after the demise of the Andersen firm. In 2005, Bob was appointed as the Office Managing Partner for the EY Louisiana practice. In that role he led a practice with over 10 partners and approximately 200 professionals providing audit, advisory, tax and transaction advisory services to businesses throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. He retired from public accounting in 2018 and since that time has assisted both nonprofits and small organizations with fundraising and organizational process development. He currently serves on the Boards of United Way of Southeast Louisiana; the Louisiana\/Mississippi chapter of the Leukemia, Lymphoma Society and GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse New Orleans. Bob is committed to supporting GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse New Orleans to enable those individuals with Down syndrome to fully develop their physical skills and knowledge to allow them to live their lives to their fullest, just as we envision for everyone.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Bob Kimbro, Presidente<\/h3>\n<p>Bob es Contador P\u00fablico Certificado que posee m\u00e1s de 40 a\u00f1os de experiencia en contabilidad p\u00fablica y consultor\u00edas. Inici\u00f3 su carrera en Arthur Andersen y en el 2002, se fue a trabajar en EY luego de la desaparici\u00f3n de la firma Andersen. En 2005, Bob fue designado como el Socio Gerente de la oficina de EY en Luisiana. En ese cargo, dirigi\u00f3 una pr\u00e1ctica con m\u00e1s de 10 socios y aproximadamente 200 profesionales, brindando servicios de auditor\u00eda, asesor\u00eda y servicios de consejer\u00eda de tr\u00e1mites fiscales de impuestos a empresas en Luisiana y Mississippi. En 2018 se retir\u00f3 del sector de la contabilidad p\u00fablica y, desde entonces, se ha dedicado a ayudar organizaciones sin fines de lucro y a peque\u00f1as organizaciones con la recaudaci\u00f3n de fondos y el desarrollo de procesos organizacionales. She has a teenage daughter, Ella, with Down syndrome who amazes her every day! She wants to show the world that Ella is capable, she is worthy, and she is loved. The free therapeutic and educational programs that GiGi&#8217;s offers to individuals are very much needed in the greater New Orleans area, and Sandy loves the Generation G campaign which encourages people to &#8220;Be Accepting. Be Generous. Be Kind.&#8221; In other words, to accept her daughter for who she is, and to get to know her talents and abilities.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Sandy Juarez, Presidente Anterior<\/h3>\n<p>Sandy es Gerente de Proyectos Certificada con experiencia en gesti\u00f3n financiera, an\u00e1lisis de operaciones y seguimiento de desempe\u00f1o. Tiene una hija adolescente con s\u00edndrome de Down, Ella, quien la sorprende cada d\u00eda. Sandy quiere mostrarle al mundo que Ella es capaz, llena de valores y amada. She is blessed with a wonderful husband and adorable children, one of whom has Down syndrome. Lory became involved with GiGi&#8217;s because she agrees with the mission of changing the way the world views Down syndrome through education so that people with it will become accepted and embraced in their families, schools, and communities.\n<hr \/>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">Lory Cenac Lewis, Vice-Presidente<\/h3>\nLory\u00a0es Contadora P\u00fablica Certificada con experiencia en auditor\u00edas de clientes privados, p\u00fablicos e internacionales. He has travelled throughout the US sharing the messages of ability, inclusion, and full participation in life for all. He has been on numerous boards that advocate for individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs and has met with legislators on issues for the betterment of lives of individuals with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Craig Blackburn,\u00a0Miembro de la Junta Directiva<\/h3>\n<p>Craig es un auto-defensor entre pares, goza de la capacidad de auto representaci\u00f3n, y un orador motivacional. His wife, Lisa, is a teacher and job coach at St. Michael Special School in New Orleans. They have five children. Peter became involved at GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse New Orleans after the birth of his youngest, Paul, who has Down syndrome. He hopes to support GiGi&#8217;s message that all members of the Down syndrome community should be celebrated, accepted with thanksgiving, and developed to their fullest potential. Peter also serves on the Board of Advisors for the East Jefferson YMCA, the Board of Directors for the Federal Bar Association &#8211; New Orleans Chapter, and the Board of Editors for The Federal Lawyer periodical.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Peter Mansfield, Secretario\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Peter Mansfield es abogado del Departamento de Justicia de los Estados Unidos, Oficina del Fiscal de los Estados Unidos para el Distrito Este de Louisiana. She is a 2017 graduate of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI) and a 2018 graduate of Leadership Jefferson. Deborah is passionate about community service and has volunteered her time for many years.\u00a0 She serves on the Jefferson Chamber Board of Directors and past member of the Executive Committee.\u00a0 She has also served many years on the Jefferson Chamber Ambassador Committee as a member and Ambassador Chair.\u00a0 Deborah is currently a Friends of City Park board member and has served on various committees of several 501c3 organizations including United Way, American Cancer Society Belles &amp; Beaus Ball, Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society Leukemia Cup Regatta, ForeKids! She is the owner of Alane Design, an interior design studio that has been in business for more than 30 years. Karen has a deep commitment to volunteerism that focuses on improving lives and community. She is a recipient of Rotary&#8217;s Paul Harris Fellow award, a team member receiving the Don Turner Award and recognized by New Orleans City Business as one of their Women of the Year. She volunteers on the board of GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse as a gift of friendship to her neighbors and their daughter with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Karen\u00a0Kersting,\u00a0Miembro de la Junta Directiva<\/h3>\n<p>Karen se considera una ciudadana naturalizada de Nueva Orleans, donde reside desde 1982. Her lifelong passion has always been to instruct students with disabilities. Throughout her career she has always desired to assist her students so that they progress and excel independently on their life&#8217;s journey. \u00a0It has been a gift from God for her to partner with GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse New Orleans. Her family is elated to have Eliana be part of a program that fulfills her social, emotional, and academic needs beyond the classroom and throughout life. Her family sends many thanks to GiGi&#8217;s Playhouse&#8217;s founder as she believes there is a great need for this organization for individuals with Down syndrome in the community.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Joy Slocum, Miembro de la Junta Directiva<\/h3>\n<p>Joy est\u00e1 casada con Calvin Slocum y son los orgullosos padres de dos hermosas hijas, Amira y Eliana quien tiene s\u00edndrome de Down.\u00a0 Joy tiene m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os de experiencia en educaci\u00f3n especial y actualmente trabaja con una escuela charter en Nueva Orleans. Su pasi\u00f3n de toda la vida siempre ha sido instruir a estudiantes con discapacidades. Dean graduated with an MBA from the University of Phoenix and received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University New Orleans. Dean is involved in the leadership of the Carrollton Rotary Club and is also a member of New Orleans Sports Foundation, Got Our Troops Foundation and Deutsches Haus. Dean previously served as treasurer of the MetroView Condo Board, treasurer of the St. Catherine of Siena Men&#8217;s Club, and committee member of the Louisiana Fire Soccer Club. In his spare time, he is a Louisiana high school football referee. Dean is staunch believer of the Down syndrome community, and throughout his life it has touched his heart in a special way. She spent 35 years with State Farm, serving as Office Manager and Sales Representative, where she built lasting relationships and developed a strong commitment to helping others.<\/p>\n<p>Karen is the proud mother of one son and grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren. Her love for family and community shines\u00a0through in\u00a0everything she does.<\/p>\n<p>Karen shares, &#8220;I love this program and\u00a0all of\u00a0y&#8217;all.
