We\u2019re lacing up our dancing shoes and turning up the volume – because the Get Down for Down Syndrome Dance-A-Thon<\/strong> is back! Join us on Saturday, September 27th<\/strong> for a high-energy day of music, movement, and meaningful impact at Franklin Road Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, our incredible community helped raise $26,000 through this exciting event – and this year, we\u2019re going even bigger<\/em>. Our 2025 goal is $30,000, and with your help, we know we can get there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why We Dance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Nashville, everything we do is rooted in our purpose: to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all. The Get Down for Down Syndrome Dance-A-Thon is part of the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge<\/strong>, which shifts the focus from awareness to acceptance<\/em> through joyful action and community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this year, there\u2019s even more to celebrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big things are happening at our Playhouse! We\u2019re expanding – adding space, programming, and resources so we can better serve individuals with Down syndrome of all ages<\/em>. From toddlers learning their first signs in LMNOP to adults preparing for job opportunities in GiGi Prep, our programs are growing to meet the needs of the families we love. But growth takes support, and that\u2019s where you come in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How It Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Dance-A-Thon is a fun and flexible way to get involved. Here\u2019s how to join:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Head to     gigisplayhouse.org\/nashville\/acceptancechallenge<\/a> to sign up as an individual or form a team with your friends, coworkers, or family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Fundraise<\/strong>
    You\u2019ll get your own fundraising page to share with your network. Ask your community to support your dance moves and our mission – it\u2019s that simple! Every dollar raised helps us keep our programs 100% free for families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Dance on September 27th<\/strong>
    Whether you dance or just come to support, you’re making a difference. We\u2019ll be celebrating all day long with music, special guest appearances, and, of course, plenty of dancing!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Share Your Moves<\/strong>
    Post your videos and photos using the hashtag #GetDownForDownSyndrome<\/strong> to help us spread joy and acceptance across Nashville\u2014and beyond!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
