Registration for Spring 2020 Programming is Now Open!

GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville Spring 2020 Registration is Now Open! 

Registration will remain open until January 1, 2020 or until programs are full. Once you complete the online registration form, you will receive a confirmation of enrollment or waitlist by January 9th, 2020. 

We are excited to offer the following programs this spring: 

One-On-One Educational Tutoring

  • Literacy (ages 3+): weekly as scheduled with student & tutor 
  • Math (ages 3+): weekly as scheduled with student & tutor

Early Learners Group Programs

  • LMNOP (recommended ages 0-3): Language, Music, N’ Our Peeps is an interactive and engaging program that guides young children with Down syndrome and their families through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. LMNOP will take place on Saturdays at 9:30am – 10:30am on the following dates: 1/11, 1/18, 2/1, 2/8, 2/22 & 2/29.
  • GiGiFit Infant & Toddler (recommended ages 0-3):GiGiFit focuses on improving areas of fitness through activities in strength, endurance, joint stability, balance, movement control, and more. GiGiFIT promotes wellness through nutrition, pushing through barriers, and building self-confidence.  This program will take place on Tuesdays at 9:30am-10:15am from 1/21-4/14 (no sessions on 3/17).
  • Music in Motion (recommended ages 4-7): Led by our friends in the Music Therapy department at Belmont, Music in Motion builds self-confidence and strengthens social skills, communication, and motor skills through the therapeutic use of music and dance. MIM: Early Learners will meet on Mondays from 4:45-5:30pm between 1/27-4/20 (no sessions on 3/9 or 3/16).
  • Playhouse Pals (recommended ages 4-7): Playhouse Palssupports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also supports gross motor skills through active games, as well as fine motor skills & self-help skills. Playhouse Pals will meet every Thursday from 1/23-4/9 (no sessions on 3/19 or 3/26).

School-Aged Children Group Programs

  • Kids Club (recommended ages 8-12)This program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program will also support gross motor skills through active games, fine motor and self-help skills through meal/snack preparation and activities. Kids Club will meet every other Tuesday from 5:00-5:45pm on the following dates: 1/28, 2/11, 2/25, 3/10, 3/31, 4/14.
  • Yoga: Kids (recommended ages 8-12):Our Yoga program promotes healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness through a practice and routine that integrates physical, mental, and emotional development, helping participants develop personal awareness and learn specific strategies to maintain focus and manage emotions and impulses. Yoga for this age group will take place onTuesdaysat 5:00pm – 5:45pm on the following dates: 1/21, 2/4, 2/18, 3/3, 3/24, 4/7, 4/21.
  • Super Sibs (recommended ages 8-13):Super Sibs is a special time for siblings of individuals with Down syndrome to talk about the good and the sometimes not-so-good moments of having a sibling with Down syndrome. Participants will share, play games, and have fun connecting with other siblings. Super Sibs will take place on Tuesdays at 6:15pm – 7:00pm on the following dates: 1/14, 2/11, 3/10, & 4/14.

Teens & Adults Group Programs

  • Music in Motion (recommended ages 13-18): Led by our friends in the Music Therapy department at Belmont, Music in Motion builds self-confidence and strengthens social skills, communication, and motor skills through the therapeutic use of music and dance. Music in Motion for this age group will take place weekly on Mondays at 5:45pm – 6:30pm from 1/27-4/20 (no sessions on 3/9 or 3/16). 
  • Yoga: Teens (recommended ages 13-18): Our Yoga program promotes healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness through a practice and routine that integrates physical, mental, and emotional development, helping participants develop personal awareness and learn specific strategies to maintain focus and manage emotions and impulses. Yoga for this age group will take place every other Wednesday from 5:00pm – 5:45pm on the following dates: 1/22, 2/5, 2/19, 3/4, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22.
  • Friends, Fun, & Fitness: CrossFit (recommended ages 16+):We are excited to once again partner with CrossFit Pro Vita to offer an adaptive fitness program for teens and adults with Down syndrome! This program promotes physical fitness and facilitates social interaction and positive peer relationships through purposeful physical activities for adolescents and adults. This program will meet in Germantown on Thursdays at 6:00pm – 7:00pm on the following dates: 1/23, 2/6, 2/20, 3/5, 3/19, 4/2, & 4/16.
  • Yoga: Adults (recommended ages 18+): Our Yoga program promotes healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness through a practice and routine that integrates physical, mental, and emotional development, helping participants develop personal awareness and learn specific strategies to maintain focus and manage emotions and impulses. Yoga for this age group will meet every other Thursday at 6:30pm – 7:30pm on the following dates: 1/30, 2/13, 2/27, 3/12, 3/26, 4/9, 4/23.
  • EPIC (recommended ages 18+): EPIC (Empowerment, Participation, Independence, & Community Involvement) provides opportunities for socialization and community involvement while creating a fun and memorable experience. Participants work on vocational, communication, and social skills to boost confidence and encourage independence through goal-oriented objectives. This program will meet weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm-8:00pm. Group 1 (ages 18-24) will meet on the following dates: 1/22, 2/5, 2/19, 3/4, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22. Group 2 (ages 25+) will meet on the following dates: 1/29, 2/12, 2/26, 3/11, 4/1, 4/22.
