Health Precautions for GiGi’s Programming

With the heightened concern around recent illnesses affecting our community such as the flu and the coronavirus, we wanted to take a moment to reassure our community about the precautions we take at GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for our participants and volunteers. As many of our friends who attend GiGi’s have compromised immune systems for a variety of reasons, doing what we can to protect their health is something we take very seriously.

Our playhouse is deep-cleaned every week by a professional cleaning company, including all program rooms, bathrooms, and community spaces. Our staff and volunteers also disinfect and clean all surfaces, toys, and equipment used during programming at least once per week, and alcohol-based hand sanitizer is provided at our electronic check-in station, front seating area, and in other locations around the facility.

At this time, all GiGi’s programs and events will continue to run as scheduled regardless of local school closures. We will be closely monitoring local health situations, and if our programs will be canceled for any reason, we will notify all participant families via email and social media in a timely manner. If you are ever unsure, you are also always welcome to call us at 615-370-1500.

If you or your child is sick, we ask that you please refrain from attending programs until you have either been cleared by a doctor or are symptom-free for at least 24 hours to help us protect the health of other participants. If you are going to be absent for a program you are registered for due to sickness or any other reason, please notify Carlie Long at clong@gigisplayhouse.org.

Thank you for helping us make GiGi’s a safe and empowering community for our friends with Down syndrome and their families!
