April Awareness- GiGi’s Community Events

This April, we are spreading awareness with the help of our community!  Over the past few months, we have received overwhelming support from our families, volunteers, donors, companies, and community organizations.  We even received a donation from the Franklin County High School Interact Club, over 80 miles away in Winchester, TN! The Interact Club sent a note to us explaining that they had several individuals with Down syndrome at their school, and they wanted to support our mission and programs. It is amazing to see our vision of a world where individuals with Down syndrome are accepted and embraced in their families, schools, and communities.

This month we have two amazing opportunities to continue to support our mission to increase positive awareness of Down syndrome in our community.  On April 11th, On The End CrossFit will be hosting: Row for a Reason, a half-marathon row to benefit GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville.  This event will be held at 2910 West End Avenue, Downtown, at 9 am.  In addition to the half-marathon there will be prizes and food from Taziki’s with all proceeds benefiting GiGi’s!  Thank you Derek Robinson, who was inspired by our 3-21 Fun Run and wanted to give back in a big way, Lauren Atkinson, and On The End CrossFit.  We are truly honored to be a part of Row for a Reason.

Then on April 25th, we will be teaming with 94 FM, The Fish, for a Down Syndrome Awareness Event at Nissan of Cool Springs.  The Fish will be holding a LIVE Broadcast at the event with prizes and a photo booth.  We will also have a car wash benefiting GiGi’s and Nissan test drive opportunities.  Our program participants will also be there for a special meet and greet, showing the community the amazing potential of individuals with Down syndrome.  Thank you to Fish FM and Nissan of Cool Springs for your continuous support.
