An EPIC Start

Monday, June 1st we kicked off our NEW E.P.I.C. Program (Empowerment, Participation, Independence, and Community involvement).  During our first program, participants made introductions, discussed what E.P.I.C. represents, had a dance party, and decorated their visual schedule board.   This weekly program is lead by an Occupational Therapist with assistance from Occupational Therapy students attending TSU.  This fun-filled program helps boost confidence and encourages independence in participants while working on vocational, social, and communication skills.

During each session of E.P.I.C, participants will be working towards a goal.  In this session, participants will host our upcoming Volunteer Appreciation Dinner to thank our wonderful volunteers and celebrate our new partnership Taziki’s Mediteranean Cusine, who will be providing jobs for eligible E.P.I.C. participants.

We are so excited to bring this program to GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville and we cannot wait to see the amazing things our E.P.I.C. participants will achieve!
