The 2020 Wisconsin State Arm Wrestling Championship will even include a special division dedicated to arm wrestlers of all abilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\">To prepare for the competition, GiGi\u2019s Playhouse in Fox Point (8685 N. Port Washington Road) will host a free one-day training event on March 8 to help kids and adults with Down syndrome, as well as their families and friends, learn the sport of arm wrestling. Officials from Wisconsin Arm Wrestling Sports will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Playhouse to teach arm wrestling strategies and tactics to participants of GiGi\u2019s free programming, which supports the educational, therapeutic and social needs of individuals with Down syndrome. Kids and adults will practice arm wrestling on specialized tables designed for the sport. The event includes a Special Abilities division designed to be inclusive of individuals with disabilities, of course in addition to the Championship\u2019s pro and amateur men\u2019s and women\u2019s classes, and a kids\u2019 competition. No entry fees will be charged for the Special Abilities division. Organizers of the annual Championship have named GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Milwaukee the sole charitable beneficiary of the event. Raffles and vendor donations will help support the nonprofit organization. Today, arm wrestling tournaments are held throughout Wisconsin and are open to competitors of all ages and levels of experience. Divisions consist of age, gender, and weight classes. What is arm wrestling? To begin, competitors put their elbows on a pad on the table. They create a base thumb grip, which is when the base of each wrestlers\u2019 thumb meets the other. Then thumbs and fingers lower into the grip.
