Program Highlight: Book Club

Did you know that participants in Book Club are a part of our Literacy Tutoring program? Book Club follows the GiGi’s tutoring program guide and supports participants as they interact with peers and develop a love for reading along with other literacy skills.  Throughout the session, the group will read a chapter book to increase comprehension and discuss sequencing and vocabulary to increase personal literacy skills. In weekly discussions with the program leaders and participants review character developments, make predictions, answer problem-solving questions, and gain confidence in sharing observations with peers. This virtual program is recommended for teens and adults (13+) and follows the tutoring calendar.

Thanks to the virtual option participants can attend from anywhere. This is especially helpful for the Program Leader Jane, who lives in California!

    Does this group meet weekly? I can only commit to once a month if meetings are Tuesdays 7-8 as I have a weekly commitment at that time, but could be with Gigi’s once a month.

      Sorry for the delay in responding. This group meets one time per week virtually. We love Book Club but it is a weekly program that meets for 12 weeks each session. We would love to have you as a volunteer and would be happy to connect anytime.
