{"id":142793,"date":"2026-04-21T11:26:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T16:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/madison\/?p=142793"},"modified":"2026-04-21T11:26:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T16:26:07","slug":"community-fun-acceptance-dash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/madison\/community-fun-acceptance-dash\/","title":{"rendered":"Community, Fun and Acceptance at the Dash!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get ready for an unforgettable day of community, fun, and acceptance at our <strong>5th Annual Dash for Down Syndrome!<\/strong> Our goal is to raise <strong>$60,000<\/strong>+ to keep life-changing programs <strong>FREE<\/strong> for over 420 families.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-fl-heading-text-background-color has-background\">PACKET PICK-UP and DAY OF INFORMATION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>REGISTRATION CUT-OFF and TEAM PACKET PICK UP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Online registration closes 9pm 4\/21\u00a0 BUT you can still register in-person, at the park on Saturday.\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Friends and family will still be able to make an online donation to teams.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We can take cash, card or checks the day of.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our food and drink truck partners are sharing a portion of the days proceeds and cash is preferred for that if possible!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TEAM CAPTAINS and those not on a team:<\/strong> You can <strong>pick up your teams run\/walk packets at the Playhouse (4104 Monona Dr.)<\/strong>, that\u00a0 include the event t-shirt, race bib, and swag, on<strong> Wednesday, April 22nd 8:30am-7pm and Thursday, April 23rd 8am-7pm.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We ask that only team captains come to pick up and take their entire teams&#8217; bags<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any bags not picked up will be brought to the event on April 25th and can be picked up at the registration table under the big tent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Day of Timeline and Parking<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Winnequah Park\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5301 Healy Lane Monona<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parking:\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There is parking in lots near the park by the big tent and by the park shelter\/playground<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>This year everything will be under the big tent!<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you arrive come to the tent, which is by the start\/finish line<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit community partners that will be set up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take a selfie at our special selfie station<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick up some GiGi&#8217;s and partner swag<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Restrooms:\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The park shelter will be available and there will be port-o-potty&#8217;s (including ADA), by the tent.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Registration\/Check in:\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In person registration is from 8:30-9:30am\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cash or charge are both options<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not pick up your team bags this week, you can grab them at the check-in table.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The popular <strong>kids dash<\/strong> takes place at 11am in the field.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you arrive you will be able to register for the FREE kids dash.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everyone participating in this does need a waiver signed and will need to wear a wrist band to show the waiver was signed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5k fun run and 1 mile walk:\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan to be to the start line by 9:50 am\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The run starts at 10am\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please note the roads are not closed for this event so when going through the neighborhoods please stay to the side and don&#8217;t go more than 2 people wide.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The walk starts after the runners are out.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The one mile route is on a paved sidewalk through a field.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Food and Drink:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The following trucks will be at the events:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Papa John&#8217;s Pizza<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Donut NV<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tom&#8217;s Coffee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kona Ice\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Every registered participant will receive a FREE shave ice!
