Introducing paired progressions

Paired Progressions are part of GiGi’s Playhouse purposeful programming. This months paired progression is “Tall Knee”.

“If your knees are together and your bottom is off your heels, you are REALLY working your glutes and abdominals. This is very challenging for little ones learning to move from crawling to standing, but a great position to learn. It is also challenging for teens and adults because when you are more flexible (ligamentous laxity for individuals with DS) you tend to relax through your abdominals and glutes rather than use them”. (Dr. Sarah Mann)

We implemented this great exercise into various programs, such as SMART, Amina Grace, and Literacy. Matthew even practiced it at home!
