We celebrate on this day each year because individuals with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. We also wear fun mis-matched socks because the chromosomes look like mis-matched socks. We encourage you to get your socks ready and tell all your friends, family, coworkers, and schools to join in with you. It&#8217;s a great way to bring awareness and acceptance to our loved ones with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>This year, we had fun Rocking Our Socks&#8230; And Our Boots.
