Serving and volunteering has always been a meaningful activity for me, as it probably has been for you. From my teens, to young adult years, and to now\u00a0entering the workforce; I have found and continue to find many positive rewards from giving back, doing for others and finding meaning in my activities as a volunteer.<\/p>\n

Research has shown that volunteering greatly contributes to a person’s abilities, outlook on life and to his or her general \u201chappiness\u201d level. The need for volunteers of all ages continues, especially in our community and for all sorts of different organizations. I have found the personal benefits of volunteerism to be numerous. For me, these include self-satisfaction, learning and\/or acquiring new skills, socialization, making new relationships and helping to spread community awareness\/improvement.<\/p>\n

I sincerely thank each of you who are currently giving and volunteering at GiGi\u2019s Playhouse.\u00a0You ARE making a\u00a0POSITIVE impact in someone’s life! I want to share one of my favorite quotes on volunteerism, which reads, \u201cA pessimist sees a glass of water as being half empty; an optimist sees the same glass as half full, but a giving person sees a glass of water and starts looking for someone who might be thirsty.\u201d Until next time… Happy Volunteering!<\/p>\n
