Volunteer Spotlight: Pam & Shelly!

This week we want to highlight and celebrate two of our amazing volunteers: Pam and Shelly!

Pam and Shelly lead our GiGiFIT adult class on Tuesday afternoons, and you can always tell they are here when you hear the excited cheers and laughter from our participants coming from the gym.

A little about Pam:

Pam has been a volunteer with us since September 2024. She got involved to help other adults like her son Ross get and stay fit. Pam loves seeing all the students master new exercises and looks forward to each week.

“ I get so much joy from leading the class”.

 A little about Shelly:

Shelly has been a volunteer with us for over 8 years! She first started as a family, bringing her daughter Paige to the playhouse, saw the need for more help and jumped right in to help (and hasn’t stopped!)

“ I thought I would be a good fit and I would be giving back for all the support the playhouse has given my daughter.”

Her favorite memory is receiving a card from a participant for her birthday, in which they said how much of a positive impact she had on them.

Advice to future volunteers:

“ If ever on the fence about volunteering, think about the importance your presence will be to these participants and this organization. Not only will you help them succeed by teaching them, but in turn will teach you everyday to be patient, loving, and kind…”

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Pam and Shelly! Your presence only makes us better and the impact you have made on us, the playhouse, and the participants is un-deniable!
