Art Explosion (Virtual)<\/span>, <\/strong>Friday, October 1, 6- 7PM (ages 10+)
\nArt Explosion provides a hands-on experience with multiple art media and provides an outlet for individuals with Down syndrome to express themselves, build confidence and socialize with peers.<\/p>\n

Friends, Fun, & Fitness<\/span>, <\/strong>Saturday, October 2, 10- 11AM (ages 10+)
\nJoin Virginia for Drums Alive!<\/p>\n

Art Explosion<\/span>, <\/strong>Saturday, October 2, 11AM- 12PM (ages 10+)
\nCreative, play-based, arts and crafts activities, will be offered with the goal of helping them to learn skills to manage their emotions. The activities offered will be used to engage otherwise reluctant children, adolescents or young adults, and help them express their thoughts and feelings in a pleasurable, relaxed and creative environment.<\/p>\n

Karate Kickers<\/strong><\/span>, Wednesday, October 6, 6- 7PM (ages 10+)
\nThe benefits of karate for people with Down syndrome are endless.\u00a0 Karate focuses on development of balance, coordination, discipline, focus, attention, physical fitness, and confidence. There will be no physical contact between peers.<\/p>\n

Fantastic Friends<\/strong><\/span>, Friday, October 8, 7- 9PM (ages 18+)
\nA fun night out to facilitate social interactions between adults with Down syndrome, their peers and the community.<\/p>\n

Destination Discovery<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 9, 10AM- 12PM (all ages)
\nJoin us on for a very special Destination Discovery Program during which participants will enjoy a unique and fun musical presentation by Empowerment Through Music.
\nBlending their musical and singing talents, songwriting skills, passion, and high energy, the Empowerment Through Music team (comprised of Harvey Rich \u2013 or \u201cMr. Harvey\u201d\u2014and his daughter Darrian Rich) strives to create a welcoming, positive, and affirming environment in which participants can connect with their emotions and have fun moving to positive, upbeat music.
\nThis father-daughter duo performs songs about shared experiences that unify and bond us despite our differences. They have taken their show to numerous schools and after-school programs, and to organizations helping individuals with special needs. They bring a message that encourages anti-bullying, self-acceptance, and kindness to others while helping listeners make sense of their feelings.<\/p>\n

Volunteer Orientation<\/strong><\/span>, Wednesday, October 13, 6- 7PM (all ages)
\nAre you interested in volunteering with GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Hillsborough? Come join us for volunteer orientation and learn about the various ways you can donate your time and talents to the playhouse.<\/p>\n

Yoga<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 16, 11AM- 12PM (ages 10+)
\nA gentle yoga class for participants ages 10 and up.<\/p>\n

Cooking Club<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 16, 12- 1PM (ages 10- 17 years)
\nGet cooking with your friends at GiGi\u2019s!\u00a0 This program is geared toward building safety awareness in the kitchen and preparing healthy recipes that taste great.<\/p>\n

Volunteer Orientation<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 16, 1:30- 2:30PM (all ages)
\nAre you interested in volunteering with GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Hillsborough? Come join us for volunteer orientation and learn about the various ways you can donate your time and talents to the playhouse.<\/p>\n

Teen Tastic and Fantastic Friends Virtual Dance Party<\/strong><\/span>, Friday, October 22, 7- 8PM (ages 13+)
\nDance your way to our monthly virtual Count Graham Dance!<\/p>\n

2 & Under Playgroup<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 23, 10- 11AM
\nJoin our playgroup! We\u2019re moving, grooving and laughing along the way.\u00a0 This program is the perfect place for children two and under to meet new friends, learn and grow while parents have the opportunity to socialize and network with one another.<\/p>\n

Leaps & Bounds<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 23, 10- 11AM (ages 3- 5 years)
\nThis program will help promote social, emotional and gross motor development through a variety of activities, including interactive play, sharing, cooperative games and physical activity.\u00a0 Creativity and movement will be incorporated throughout the program.<\/p>\n

Little Sports<\/strong><\/span>, Saturday, October 23, 11AM- 12PM (ages 2- 5 years)
\nThis program will help promote gross motor development and cooperation through a variety of gymnastics activities.<\/p>\n

As space is limited for health and safety reasons<\/strong><\/span>, each program will have a pre-determined attendance limit. The same policy will also apply to program volunteers; there will be limited capacity for volunteers at each program. Should a participant or volunteer arrive for a program without having registered and the Playhouse is at capacity, he\/she will be turned away at the door.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
