There are many ways you can help out at\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0Playhouse Hillsborough, and joining our Board of Managers is one of them!\u00a0\u00a0Our Board is a dedicated, energized group of individuals from all walks of life\u2014some are parents of children with Down syndrome, and others are not.\u00a0\u00a0There\u2019s something\u00a0we all have in common, though: to do all we can to help\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0Playhouse Hillsborough succeed in providing free, life-changing programs and services to individuals with Down syndrome.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you know that our Board is growing, and we are currently seeking members? For more information about joining the Board of Managers email hillsborough@gigisplayhouse.org<\/a>! We wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our newest Board members.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet Matthew Schorr….<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span>\"\"Matt is Owner of Mailbox Business Center\u00a0right here\u00a0in Hillsborough.\u00a0Matt and his team provide high-quality copying, printing, shipping, and graphic design services, and they have been\u00a0supporters of\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0Playhouse Hillsborough since we opened in 2015. Matt describes how he came to join the Board: \u201cI have always had a place for\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0in my heart.\u00a0So\u00a0when the opportunity arose for me to sit on the Board, I was honored to do so.\u202f My number one goal while on the board will be to leave Gigi’s in a decent, sustainable financial situation.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Matt brings extensive business, marketing, and graphic design knowledge to our team, as well as\u00a0an extensive list of business contacts.\u00a0\u00a0Outside of his work\u00a0commitments\u00a0and\u00a0GiGi\u2019s, Matt loves spending time with his family and going to the gym.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet Mary Perez…<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span>\"\"Mary is a Budget Operations Manager at Verizon, specializing in project management, budgeting,\u00a0finance, and operations management.\u00a0Mary has\u00a0coordinated\u00a0Liquid Church volunteers at\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0for several years,\u00a0leading the group in facilitating the monthly Fantastic Friends program. Mary describes her interest in our Board in this way: \u201cSince I started volunteering at\u00a0GiGi\u2019s, the Playhouse has quickly become my heart. I felt I had contributions I could make to the Board.\u201d We are very lucky to have stolen a piece of Mary\u2019s heart, since the rest of it is very much devoted to her six children, five grandchildren, and one more\u00a0grandchild\u00a0on the way! Mary serves as our Board Secretary.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet Edward (EJ) Leppert….<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span>\"\"A\u00a0Certified Financial Analyst\u00a0(CFA), EJ works as a Training Analyst for the global investment firm\u00a0AllianceBernstein\u00a0in New York City. As such, he brings deep financial and business knowledge to our team, as well as more than 7 years of experience volunteering for Special Olympics.\u00a0\u00a0He\u00a0shares why he wanted to join our Board: \u201cI’ve had a passion for working with the disability community\u00a0for as long as I can remember, and I\u00a0have formed close relationships with many Special Olympics athletes in NJ through my high school and college volunteering, and many of these friends I have made are also\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0participants. Within the disability community,\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0has an amazing reputation, and I was excited to be chosen to further the impact that we have on our participants and their families.\u201d Outside of work and\u00a0GiGi\u2019s, EJ enjoys\u00a0playing lawn games with\u00a0his\u00a0fianc\u00e9, friends, and family,\u00a0and he is\u00a0an avid sports fan.\u00a0\u201cPut it all together and\u00a0my happy place is tailgating at a Notre Dame football game,\u201d he says.\u00a0We are very lucky, by the way, that EJ is serving as Event Chair for our inaugural Golf Outing taking place on 9\/21\/21!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet Albert Internoscia, DMD, MAGD, FICOI<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span>\"\"Dr. Al is not only our newest Board Member;\u00a0he is also our new Treasurer! Dr. Al is President of Towne Centre Family Dental right here in Hillsborough, and he brings to our board\u00a0more than\u00a030 years of experience as a successful business owner,\u00a0valuable medical knowledge,\u00a0deep ties to the Hillsborough community, and an extensive history of community service and\u00a0charity fundraising. When asked why he wanted to join the Board, he explains,\u00a0\u201cMatt asked me to help,\u00a0and I couldn’t say no because I could hear in his voice that\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0needed my help.\u202f My dental practice\u00a0did a fundraiser for\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0two\u00a0years ago,\u00a0and the people we met were very thankful and welcoming,\u00a0so I didn’t hesitate to help when asked.\u00a0My goal is to bring my experiences and skillset to the Treasurer position to improve systems and fundraise.\u201d Outside of work, Dr. Al loves spending time with his family at the Jersey Shore, grilling and boating. He is a season ticket holder for Rutgers football and basketball. Dr. Al feels\u00a0truly fortunate\u00a0to have a career that has never felt like a job.\u00a0\u201cI love to change lives through dentistry,\u201d he says.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
