September and October Events

Welcome back to the Playhouse! September and October have been filled to the brim with exciting events, programs, and celebrations! Here is a highlight of some of the great events that have happened:

Fall/Winter Family Kickoff

GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough kicked off our Fall and Winter programming with a Family Fun night September 17 at the Hilton.

We had the most wonderful night! Board President Mary Perez introduced the board and new team members and talked about the many ways people can and should get involved in GiGi’s. This community relies on each of us pitching in in our own ways, whether it’s volunteering at programs, donating money or gala raffle items, or getting sponsorships from local businesses. Every bit helps.

We all enjoyed the delicious buffet, followed by raffles, signing up for upcoming programs, and dancing with Count Graham. Carol Tykody and Alex Nacamuli shared wonderful stories and testimonials about their experiences at GiGi’s.  The best part of the night was getting to see the familiar faces of our friends as well as new ones we can’t wait to see again! Our community is what makes GiGi’s special, it was so nice to spend the evening together and get excited for in-person programs! You can sign up for these programs online on the calendar: https://gigisplayhouse.org/hillsborough/calendar

Golf ‘Fore’ GiGi’s

We had a truly unFOREgettable day! After registration, the golfers got ready for the day with a brunch from Chick-Fil-A before saddling up to hit the course. Makenzie Molish started our day off singing the natation anthem for us beautifully.

After a gorgeous day of holes-in-one and birdies, we gave out awards for the longest drive and closest to the pin. We heard from Colin McMullen, EJ Leppert, and Alex Nacamuli. Dinner from Twin Oaks was the perfect ending to this exceptional day!

We want to thank everyone who came, bought mulligans, and especially our sponsors. We would like to give special recognition to our presenting sponsor Glenn Beyerl and KMP Exceptional. Thank you to Tom and Teresa Lazur, Cybersecurity GRC, Towne Centre Family Dental, Jeffrey Meissner, Morgan Stanley, Taryn Realty, DeTommaso Law Group, Rotary Club of Hillsborough, Peotter’s Auto Body, Steven Bergida, Charles Engelhard Foundation, Tower Electrical Contracting, Wright Mowers, SCAG Mowers, Thomas Lazur, Bilynda Molish and Tap Snap, Tony Kaszuba and Barbara Kane, Dr Laurene Wolf Orthodontics, Patrik Ringblom, Rob Berger, Kerry Guthrie, Alexa Nacamuli, and Marty Caffrey.

It is thanks to the outstanding generosity of our sponsors that we are able to provide free programing for all GiGi’s families are participants. If you would like to contribute to keeping GiGi’s Playhouse accessible for all, consider donating online or becoming a sponsor of our December Gala.

Hillsborough DSAM Proclamation

On October 11, Mayor Shawn Lipani of Hillsborough signed a formal proclamation recognizing National Down Syndrome Acceptance Month and GiGi’s Playhouse. Members of our community were present at the Hillsborough Township Committee meeting to witness the signing and represent GiGi’s. We are so honored to be a part of this momentous occasion and big step in Down Syndrome acceptance!
