- Outreach Coordinator: supports and oversees networking with key stakeholders (schools, hospitals, pediatric offices, therapy offices, local support organizations and centers) to increase awareness of the playhouse mission, programs, and events. The Outreach Coordinator works collaboratively with the Board of Managers and the playhouse interns to advocate for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. This volunteer position requires an average commitment of 5 – 15 hours per week. Hours are flexible and may include evenings and weekends. Responsibilities can be modified based on skills and interests.
- Operations Coordinator: supports overall office management, coordinating and managing non-program volunteers, delivering internal and external communications, assisting with event support and helping to ensure national processes and policies are executed appropriately at the local level. The Operations Coordinator works collaboratively with the Board of Managers. This volunteer position requires an average commitment of 5-15 hours per week. - Special Events Coordinator: supports the Chair of the Fundraising and Marketing Committee and helps plan and implement marketing strategies to grow revenues and awareness of GiGi’s Playhouse through special events. The Special Events Coordinator will demonstrate strong project/event management, marketing, volunteer management, and relationship development skills. This volunteer position requires an average commitment of 5-15 hours per week. Hours are flexible and may include evenings and weekends. Responsibilities can be modified based on skills and interests.
Programs: GiGi's Playhouse Gainesville offers purposeful, progressive, therapeutic, educational and social programs throughout the month and on the weekends at designated times. Check our calendar. We train and support all volunteers, we are in need of Program Leaders and Assistants who engage and interact with the participants and their families in purposeful activities, set up and take down materials used for the programs.
Literacy Tutors: Interested in helping a child learn to read? Then our literacy program is perfect for you! We have specific training for tutors which include observation hours. Make a difference!
Administrative: Like to be on the computer? Like to work on projects? GiGi's Playhouse Gainesville is always looking for administrative volunteers to help with thank you letters, creating books for our literacy program, database entry and more!
Events: GiGi's Playhouse has exciting events that are run by volunteers!! 5K Walk/Run, Gala, World Down Syndrome Celebration…you name it! We are always in need of volunteers for these events – from being a committee member to helping the day of the event, we need your assistance!
