Giving Back: Masks by Alexa

Senior at Oak Hall, Alexa Katz has truly taken this difficult time to make a change for the better. With the additional stress that the COVID-19 pandemic has put on everyone, parents want to protect themselves and their families. Alexa is helping to support our GiGi’s families by not only helping with the financial need, but the need for more masks to help protect our loved ones. What a truly amazing way to give your time, talent ,and treasure!

What started out as a small idea of pure fun for Alexa and her mom, turned into the opportunity to give back in an impactful way. Alexa has created a tie-dye mask company where all proceeds benefit GiGi’s Playhouse Gainesville! Each mask is priced at $10 with a small shipping fee of $2. There are some pre-made tie-dye masks but for no additional charge, Alexa will create a custom color tie-dye mask at your request! Why not get a stylish mask for a greater cause?!

Alexa set an original goal to raise $1,000. With the help of her friends, family, and support of sales through Alliance Pediatrics, a local Gainesville pediatric office, Alexa and her Mom have made a total of 200 masks! Alexa has set a new goal to raise $5,000! We are so grateful for Alexa’s effort, time, and passion put into making this happen!

Alexa has been a previous volunteer with GiGi’s Playhouse Gainesville and continues to make a positive change for GiGi’s. [Alexa says] “I definitely plan to continue this in the future. I love GiGi’s it’s so much fun and this definitely fits in with what I want to do in the future. I want to be a pediatric surgeon and I plan to attend UF  in the near future”. She is truly #GenerationG. Want to be safe wearing a stylish mask and support GiGi’s Playhouse? Please order your mask today at Alexa’s website:

Thank you Alexa for everything you have done and continue to do for our GiGi’s Playhouse Gainesville Community and thank you everyone for continuing to believe in us! The magic of GiGi’s does not happen without all of our amazing volunteers!
