On August 4th, 2024 families and friends gathered at The Lodge at Camp Red Cedar<\/a> to Get Down for Down Syndrome, our local Playhouse’s GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge. The\u202fGiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge\u202f<\/strong>is both an in-person and virtual\u202fevent taking place across the country at GiGi\u2019s Playhouse locations. Each location hosts various GiGiFIT\u00a0Acceptance Challenges consisting of fitness-based challenges and fun-filled activities fit for the whole family.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Event day began with our friends and national sponsor, Arby’s Foundation, assembling donated sliders. Playhouse participants were able to show off their career skills and personalities in an unfamiliar setting and thrived with food assembly line. Michael wasn’t leaving any piece of turkey or ham in the pre-measured containers. Every bit made it onto the slider. Jenny did a phenomenal job of working hard on getting stubborn cheese apart for the sliders. Griffin did a great job pinching and turning the wrappers to make sure the sliders stayed together nicely. <\/p>\n\n\n

Our Square-Dancing program participants showcased their hard work by performing at the event. They blew everyone away! Friends, family, organizations, companies, and more raised awareness and funds by signing up and inviting peers to join their team, collectively raising over $23,000 and counting with less than $40 event expenses! The funds and awareness raised help provide life-changing programs and acceptance initiatives at GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Fort Wayne!
