The GiGi’s Ripple Effect…Where is your impact?

GiGi’s Playhouse National Leadership Conference 2019 brought together over 320 attendees, from 60 Playhouses internationally. Our founder, Nancy Gianni inspired Playhouse leaders by releasing the GiGi’s Ripple Effect which demonstrates how network resources are designed to impact each Playhouse and our families! Fargo is the only GiGi’s location in North Dakota and northern Minnesota serving individuals with Down syndrome and their families. In 2020, we will continue to expand our program offerings with math tutoring and GiGiFIT Kid. Thank you to the Fargo/Moorhead community for making our ripple in an empowerment and global movement for acceptance for all!

Here are a few exciting highlights from the 2019 National Leadership Conference:

  • GiGi’s Playhouse INC is working with Google on Project Understood helping to improve their voice recognition software for those with Down syndrome.
  • GiGi’s Playhouse INC is building the dream 2.0 and investing in the future with Microsoft as a partner and launching AI4Ds (Artificial Intelligence for Down syndrome). More details to come in 2020!
  • GiGi’s Go is a new app launching in 2020 across the network for each individual Playhouse to stay connected to their families. This app will provide learning activities and programming materials you can do in your home.
  • Promoting Positive Behavior manuals have been released with brain break activities, positive approaches to get your child to engage and so much more!
  • The Fargo Playhouse received the “Best of All” award recognizing our commitment to our families and community. We celebrate the “Best of All” every day as it is continual, measurable and never ends! In addition, we were noted as a Playhouse to watch in Leadership & Team along with Fundraising & Events.
  • GiGiFIT programs will be offered for all ages, infant through adulthood starting January 2020! Our free GiGiFIT program combines physical therapy with a strong fitness focus and goal of success and improved movement. Due to the high demand and commitment to a lifestyle change you will have to receive physician’s approval upon registering for this program and limited registrants each session.

As a Network we are ‘Bigger, Better and Stronger Together’ and as a Playhouse in Fargo we are here to celebrate the ‘Best of All’ in your family! Thank you to our donors, supporters, friends and families for your dedication to help us change the way the world views Down syndrome! As we continue to celebrate 2019, we are now more inspired and believe dreams can continue to come true in 2020!
