Recycle & Donate to Rebuild the Playhouse

During the months of July, August, and September.  MinnKota will match 2 cents per pound for all clean sorted recyclable material delivered to our redemption centers in Fargo and Detroit Lakes to GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo. On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 11, fire ripped through a strip mall and many businesses were damaged or destroyed, including GiGi’s Playhouse, which is North Dakota’s only Down Syndrome Achievement Center.

During this promotion, individuals may deliver their clean sorted recyclable materials to one of MinnKota’s redemption centers and keep the money or donate the proceeds to one of more than 180 qualified non for-profit organizations registered with MinnKota, including GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo.  MinnKota will then pay the individual or designated organizations the proceeds as follows:

Aluminum Cans = current buy back price of 30 cents per pound

#1 & #2 Plastic Bottles = 2 cent per pound

#2 Clear Plastic jugs = 2 cents per pound

Magazines = 2 cent per pound

Newspaper = 2 cent per pound

Sorted Paper = 2 cent per pound

Steel & Tin cans = 2 cent per pound

MinnKota encourages – people to make sure they recycle there plastic #2 Natural (clear) plastic jugs.

Most plastic containers are made from high-density polyethylene, also known as HDPE or No. 2 Natural plastic. This means that clear milk, juice or water jugs are recyclable, and at MinnKota Recycling redemption center we buy them and currently we are paying $.02 cents per pound. It takes about 5 – gallon jugs to make one pound. 

MinnKota will match 2 cents per pound for all clean sorted recyclable material delivered to our redemption centers in Fargo and Detroit Lakes to GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo.
