The Fargo Literacy Committee leads this training on the unique curriculum and learning strategy for individuals with Down syndrome!

  • All NEW Tutors or prospective tutors will need to attend during this time.  We will go over the basics of the program, get you comfortable with the learning strategies and introduce our resources.

6:15 – 6:45pm – PARENT-TUTOR MEET & GREET

  • Tutors and families with NEW pairings are required to be here during this time.  Repeat pairings are welcome to join.  During this time, tutors will begin to build a rapport with their student, gather interests and begin motivation to read!! Parents and tutors will be introduced to the parent expectations, confidentiality policies, and general playhouse procedures.  PIZZA WILL BE SERVED!!

6:45 – 8:00pm – ALL TUTORS

  • We will be launching the Raising Robust Readers phonics curriculum as part of the literacy program.  All tutors are STRONGLY encouraged to attend this training as we introduce this amazing opportunity to make our program and tutors stronger, preparing for our readers to be more successful.   This is also a great time for returning tutors to share tips, tricks and survival skills for the new tutors 🙂
