Celebrating Megan’s Best of All

At GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Each month, we’re proud to spotlight one of our incredible volunteers who goes above and beyond to make a difference—and this month, we’re thrilled to celebrate Megan as our Volunteer of the Month!
Megan has been part of our Playhouse family for two years, bringing passion, dedication, and heart to her role as a literacy tutor. With a love for reading and a background as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Megan was inspired to give back to the community in a way that combined her personal and professional passions. “I believe it is never too late to learn how to read,” Megan shared—and she brings that belief into every session.
When asked about her favorite part of volunteering at GiGi’s, Megan didn’t hesitate: it’s the Best of All moments. “It is so special getting to watch the excitement and pride when the individual I am tutoring learns a new skill,” she said. Each tutoring session is an opportunity to celebrate progress and empower achievement, and Megan is right there cheering every step of the way.
One memorable moment that captures the depth of Megan’s impact happened during another program at the Playhouse. Mckenna, Megan’s tutoring student, brought our Program Coordinator, Courtney, into the literacy room and began role-playing a tutoring session. In this sweet role reversal, Mckenna played the role of Megan, guiding Courtney through a lesson just as Megan would. It was a beautiful and unscripted moment that highlighted how deeply Megan’s consistency, encouragement, and care have resonated with her student. It was more than play—it was a demonstration of growth, trust, and connection.
Beyond the Playhouse, Megan brings what she’s learned at GiGi’s into her everyday life. She shared that celebrating “Best of All” has become part of her approach at work, too, spreading the impact of the Playhouse even further.
We’re so grateful for Megan’s dedication and the joy she brings to our literacy program. Her belief in lifelong learning and her commitment to empowering others truly reflect the mission and heart of GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo.
Thank you, Megan, for being part of our family and for making a lasting difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. We’re so lucky to have you!
