We Walked, We Ran, We Dashed for Acceptance

Our 2024 GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge was INCREDIBLE!

On Sunday, June 23rd, we hosted our 5th annual GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, MI. The event included a 1-mile walk, the Kids’ Dash for Down Syndrome, and tons of fun field day activities.

This beautiful day was filled with joy, hugs, cheers, laughs, and the comforting pride of knowing we are creating a more kind and inclusive world, together.

We had the fabulous emcee JoeyRadio, who has been a supporter of GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit since our inception.

Rachel Eckert, Program Leader of Friends, Fun & Fitness, was assisted by ambassadors, Luke Tyrrell and Amber Moore, in guiding the the crowd through warm up exercises.

Dawn Conn, whose company Dunn Financial Services was one of our sponsors, led everyone in an inspiring 1-mile walk .

We had 359 participants, 33 teams, 563 donations, 4 sponsors, approximately 30 volunteers, and ONE very special birthday girl, Lydia Mae!

What a massive, powerful, and vital group of individuals actively spreading the message of Acceptance and making the world a better place for ALL!

From the bottom of hearts and the depth of our mission,

THANK YOU

Thanks to those of you who reached out to your friends, families, and various networks to share the purpose and impact of GiGi’s Playhouse. Thank you for helping us raise the critical funds to continue Detroit’s purposeful programming at no cost to the families we serve. Thank you for showing up and furthering the #GenerationG movement!
