If you\u2019re keeping score at home, you probably know that GiGi\u2019s Playhouse provides 600 hours of progressive and purposeful programs to 200 participants in any given month. And you probably know that 99% of the programs are led by volunteers. Lots of them.

In fact, we averaged 57 volunteers who gave 200 hours of their time in any given month last year. But ask any one of them and they\u2019ll say they get so much more in return.

Since we can never thank these volunteers enough, we a few planned during National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 19-25) to show them how much we love and appreciate them.

First off, we want to thank Grounds for Celebration for joining us by offering every current volunteer a free cup of coffee that stopped by either of their Des Moines locations on Monday.

And, fortunately for our volunteers, our participants wanted to get into the act, too. They helped create these beautiful bottle cap-painted flower bouquets and bookmarks!\u00a0 The bookmarks are in high demand at local bookstores, and we know our volunteers will love them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, we like to boast about our fantastic volunteers, but we never have enough of them. And now as head into Summer, we know we\u2019ll need many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
