Summer Programs: June 10th through August 2nd

Programs for all Ages:

Yoga Tales – Yoga Tales is a fun and interactive yoga class that promotes self-confidence and self-esteem through stories and sounds.  Each class explores a new book, which invites learners and yogis alike to strike a pose and stretch along to the story. Students will strengthen their muscles and reading comprehension. Yoga Tales encourages movement while enhancing flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. Yoga Tales also aims to improve concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation.

Wednesdays from 10 to 11 am 

Destination Discovery – Supports the development of motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting.  This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships.

Mondays from 10 am to 12 pm  

Art Explosion – Provides hands-on experience with multiple art media and provides an outlet for individuals with Down syndrome to express themselves, build confidence and socialize with peers.

Wednesdays from 11 am to 12 pm  

Open Play – Promotes positive beginnings for new families, creates awareness opportunities for peers and friends while allowing families to network and support one another.  Come ready for fun and a crazy good time! Open to all families of all ages. Registration not required.

Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 pm and Thursdays from 10 to 11 am 

Programs for All Kids and Teens:

Kid’s Cooking Club – Let’s get cooking with friends at GiGi’s! This program is geared toward building safety awareness in the kitchen and preparing healthy recipes that also taste great. This program is open to individuals with Down syndrome ages 9+! You can attend one, a couple, or all classes!

Thursdays from 11 am to 12:30 pm

Sci-Tech – Sci-Tech for kids brings science, technology, engineering, and math (stem) learning and experiments to kids ages 5 and up in fun and challenging ways. Sci-Tech inspires children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-on learning!

Tuesdays from 3 to 4 pm 

Music in Motion (3-7years) – Tap into your inner rock star where every voice shines!  Music in Motion will build self-confidence, strengthen social skills, communication and motor skills through the therapeutic use of music and dance.

Fridays from 9:15 to 10 am  

Music in Motion (8yrs and up) – Tap into your inner rock star where every voice shines!  Music in Motion will build self-confidence, strengthen social skills, communication and motor skills through the therapeutic use of music and dance.

Fridays from 10 to 11 am

Programs for Teens and Adults:

Drama Troupe – The goal of Drama Troupe is to establish healthy, meaningful relationships and achieve higher goals using dramatic play as a catalyst for building a community wherein participants are free to express thoughts and feelings concerning their perceptions of life and life’s challenges! * Starts June 6th and runs through August 18th*

Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 pm 

Friends, Fun, & Fitness – Our friends get together each week for physical activity! Our group of Friends is growing, and we want you to join us! This group is offered for individuals with Down syndrome ages 11-21 and their siblings! Space is limited, so sign up is required. We hope to see you this summer!

Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:30 pm  

Adult Cooking Club – Let’s get cooking with friends at GiGi’s! This program is geared toward building safety awareness in the kitchen and preparing healthy recipes that also taste great. This program is open to individuals with Down syndrome ages 18+!

Tuesdays from 11 am to 1pm 

Karaoke – Join us for Karaoke for teens and adults. Sing at the top of your lungs and get your boogie on Tuesdays from 1:30pm to 3:00p. Feel free to bring your own CD's to sing and dance to! Ages 13+
