I have been in the Denver area since 2003 where I live with my husband and our two beautiful daughters, who are 6 and 8 years old. During the day, I work as an IT Director with FirstBank.

Q: How did you get involved with GiGi’s?
A: It is important to me to give my time and make meaningful contributions to our community. I wanted to get more deeply involved in a non-profit organization, and then I heard about GiGi’s Playhouse. I followed the start-up of GiGi’s Playhouse Denver through a friend. After learning that GiGi’s was planning to open soon and needed volunteers, I decided to attend a GiGi’s Orientation and learn more.

Q: Why’s GiGi’s Playhouse?
A: When I learned what GiGi’s Playhouse offers the community and I heard the GiGi’s Playhouse mission, I knew this was where I wanted to be. Offering free, therapeutic, and educational programs to support the development of speech-language, social, and motor skills, tailored to addressing the universal challenges of individuals with Down syndrome, is an amazing benefit for our community. GiGi’s Playhouse believes in sending a global message of Acceptance for All, and this is part of my core beliefs. I want to see a world where everyone is accepted and loved.

Q: Can you share a favorite memory of your experience with the Playhouse?
A: The Denver Playhouse is supported by an amazing group of people with huge hearts and passion. I was able to be a part of our GiGiFit Acceptance Challenge (GFAC) Denver event and it was phenomenal to see the community come together to have fun and celebrate a MOVEment for Acceptance. When volunteering for GiGi’s, I feel the excitement of getting to the next step of opening our doors and am honored to be a part of it.

Q: What does acceptance mean to you?
A: Acceptance means a world where we all acknowledge and celebrate our differences; a world where every single person is provided equal opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential.

In summary, we’re so grateful to have Brie’s dedication and commitment to the Denver Playhouse team. If you’re interested in volunteering, learn more by visiting the Volunteer page. We’re currently working to secure volunteers for education programs, literacy tutors, administration, and more.

GiGi’s Playhouse is a volunteer-run organization, and we rely on the skill and dedication of volunteers of various levels of expertise to keep our programs vibrant, educational, purposeful, fun, and FREE.
