GiGi\u2019s\u00a0Playhouse has launched the\u00a0<\/span>GiGi\u00a0Fit Acceptance Challenge<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0a\u00a0MOVEment\u00a0to\u00a0inspire everyone to be physically and socially\u00a0active.\u00a0Our\u00a0goal is\u00a0to\u00a0prove that every person should be accepted for who they are.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re\u00a0excited to shine the spotlight on a Colorado resident who\u2019s been\u00a0an active fitness\u00a0enthusiast, and\u00a0advocate for Down syndrome acceptance\u00a0since the day she was born.\u00a0\u00a0Here is\u00a0a\u00a0bit of our interview with Christina Hinkle\"\"\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q:\u00a0 Tell us about yourself.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A:\u00a0My name is Christina Hinkle.\u00a0I’m\u00a036 years old and was raised in Aurora, CO.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q:\u00a0 How did you get involved with fitness and working with the Colorado Athletic Club?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A:\u00a0\u00a0My parents joined the Colorado Athletic Club (CAC) a few months before I was born. They always encouraged me to be active growing up. I played basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and ice skating in middle and high school. I was invited to work out with the Poms team for a semester.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I started Zumba and LaBlast about 11 years ago at\u00a0CAC\u00a0and\u00a0have also tried cycling and body pump classes. It changed my life and I love it.\u202fI also like working out with my personal trainer.\u00a0I want to be a professional Hip Hop dancer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What does\u00a0MOVEment, the physical and social activity, bring to your life?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A:\u00a0\u00a0I know a lot of people at the Athletic Club. They are nice to me and I have fun there.\u202fIt feels good to dance and I like to dance in the spotlight on stage.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0also\u00a0worked at Family Sports Ice Skating Rink as a Skate Host in the Skate Rental for the last 5 years.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q:\u00a0What action do you want our community to take to show acceptance for all?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A:\u00a0Let me try to do new things.\u00a0If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0going out for a walk, run or playing outside, ask a friend to join you and be sure to include others.\u00a0It can make your day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an effort to\u00a0make the world a more accepting place for individuals of all abilities,\u00a0GiGi\u2019s\u00a0Playhouse is aiming to unite 1\u00a0Million\u00a0supporters in a physical and social\u00a0MOVEment\u00a0for Acceptance!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Colorado Athletic Club has accepted the challenge and is hosting a series of fitness events this month to help raise awareness for Down syndrome acceptance and support GiGi\u2019s Playhouse\u2019s new location in Denver.\u00a0 Classes are taking place across Front Range locations and are open to members and non-members.\u00a0 More details in the attached flyer below.<\/span><\/p>\n
