Thank you for your interest in becoming a Volunteer. GiGi’s Playhouse is a volunteer-run organization and we rely on the skill and dedication of volunteers of various levels of expertise to keep our organization and our programs vibrant, educational, fun and free.\u00a0Since the first Playhouse opened in 2003, GiGi’s Playhouse programs have always been free for our families. \u00a0Parents, family members, clinicians, and individuals who believe in the GiGi’s Playhouse mission act as volunteers in GiGi’s Playhouse programs, events, administrative offices, and on our Board. If you are interested in donating your time and talent,\u00a0let us know!<\/p>\n

Types of Volunteer Opportunities<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

Startup Team \/ Board<\/h3>\n

Commitment:<\/strong>\u00a0Varied-These can either be 1x week, 1x month or on an as-needed basis.<\/p>\n

Marketing\/PR:<\/strong>\u00a0contacting media for events, help write press releases, create flyers, help manage social media and other communications.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Writers:<\/strong>\u00a0for blog, grant writers etc.<\/p>\n

Fundraisers:<\/strong>\u00a0Research and meet with individuals\/organizations who would like to sponsor or donate to GiGi’s Playhouse<\/p>\n

Programs:<\/strong> responsible for learning about the GiGi’s Playhouse programs, working with the National Programs Director to define the initial program lineup, arranging for program training<\/p>\n

Facility Search:<\/strong> seek potential locations, engage with real estate professionals for guidance, determine the going rate for a facility, propose a budget for your facility expense, and present proposed facility options to the board for review<\/p>\n

Events<\/h3>\n

Commitment:<\/strong>\u00a0Varied, 1x a week during event planning a few months before the event<\/p>\n

Committee member:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chairperson:<\/strong>\u00a0Oversee the committee and event, some experience with event\/people management preferred.<\/p>\n

Fundraisers\/Sponsorships:<\/strong>\u00a0Help secure donations for the events by reaching out to organizations in the community, asking for sponsorship and donations<\/p>\n

Decorations:<\/strong>\u00a0 Research and secure rentals needed for the event<\/p>\n

Food and Beverage:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Research and secure food and beverage donations<\/p>\n

Day of Volunteers:<\/strong>\u00a0 Helping with registration and other activities.<\/p>\n\t

Board of Managers<\/h1>\n

Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Managers for GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley! GiGi’s has a mission to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all! We provide resources, specialized teaching, and support to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. There are many areas in which you can help support the Playhouse – from becoming a board member, donating funds or services, or volunteering.<\/p>\n
