Co-led by Sydney Wisnor and Bianca Bark, two occupational therapy students at Cleveland State University, this program offers a variety of activity stations providing opportunities for participants to engage all their senses, strengthen motor skills, harness fine motor skills, and so much more - all while having some purposeful fun with friends!\u00a0<span class=\"ql-cursor\">\ufeff<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4>Speech & Language 1:1<\/h4>\n<p><p><b>The GiGi&#39;s Amina Grace One-on-One Speech &amp; Language program<\/b> provides youth, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills This program supports the increase of clarity of speech and enunciation,\u00a0word order and message meaning and comprehension which benefits\u00a0self-confidence,\u00a0school and social readiness and\u00a0Increased independence and overall quality of life.<b>\u00a0<\/b>Recommended for All Ages.<\/p> <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 18px; color: rgb(245, 130, 32);\">At GiGi&#39;s Playhouse Cleveland, we are equipped with two amazing Speech Language Pathologists - Amanda Simon and Libby Farrell! <\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><br><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong style=\"color: rgb(0, 168, 157); font-size: 18px;\"><u>Amanda<\/u> earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Akron. She began her career working with adults in a skilled nursing facility, providing rehabilitation to improve speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing function. After dedicating ten years as a stay-at-home mom to her three boys, including James, who has Down syndrome, Amanda\u2019s personal experiences deepened her passion for early communication development. Inspired by the benefits of sign language in her family, she became a certified Baby Signing Time Instructor and began supporting families in enhancing communication with their little ones.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong style=\"color: rgb(0, 168, 157); font-size: 18px;\">Amanda\u2019s journey with GiGi\u2019s Playhouse started at the grand opening, and she quickly became the Program Lead for LMNOP, a role she\u2019s held for almost ten years. In this position, she teaches families basic sign language vocabulary and provides support and resources to help families navigate their journeys.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong style=\"color: rgb(0, 168, 157); font-size: 18px;\">As she steps into her new role as Speech Language Pathologist for the Amina Grace Speech &amp; Language Program, Amanda is thrilled to combine her clinical expertise with her personal passion for empowering families and enhancing communication for individuals with Down syndrome.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><br><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 18px; color: rgb(215, 133, 184);\"><u>Libby<\/u> is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist, earning her Bachelor\u2019s degree from The Ohio State University and Master\u2019s degree in Speech Language Pathology at Cleveland State University. Much of Libby\u2019s experience was spent working in a school setting in self-contained special education classrooms in Chicago, gaining extensive experience working with people with complex communication needs, thus gaining a strong background in augmentative alternative communication (AAC) systems. Libby also worked at GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Chicago where she implemented the Amina Grace Speech &amp; Language program beginning in 2017 up until she relocated back to the west side of Cleveland in 2022. She is excited to bring this incredible program to GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Cleveland and work with our amazing participants! Each session is three weeks long, culminating with our group attending a performance at Playhouse Square. Come meet healthcare professionals and providers in a friendly and secure environment as we navigate through a typical appointment for the teddy bear. Participants will be invited to help us check the teddy bears&#39; vital signs, take X-rays, put on band-aids, and have a chance to ask questions and see standard equipment.
