Volunteer of the Month – Ericka!

We are thrilled to have Ericka as part of our team! She joined our GiGi’s family back in 2020 and has been impacting lives ever since! She originally signed up as a Project Pulse Assist and has added Literacy and Math Tutor under her belt, having tutored for the fall session. She just committed to being one of the Playhouse Pals Assists beginning in December, too! Ericka’s positive energy has been contagious to all of our participants! We appreciate her goal setting for her tutoring participants and we look forward to the impact she’s going to make with our school agers for Playhouse Pals!

Ericka shares, “I first heard about GiGi’s from a general search on Google when I was searching for a place to volunteer. I read about the organization and thought that it was an organization I wanted to learn more about. After signing up to assist with the 5K Run back in June 2021, I happened to talk about it with some of my co-workers, and I found out that one of them, Mary, volunteers at GiGi’s as well! I was hooked on that because I know Mary and I know she would only be a part of an organization that does good. Since signing up to be a volunteer, I have assisted with Project Pulse, literacy and math tutoring, Playhouse Pals and the viewing of Charlotte`s Web, the play. I have fallen in love with GiGi’s and all of our friends that come there to participate and assist with the programs offered. GiGi`s has filled a part of my heart that I didn`t even realize was empty. I feel like I have found a second family that helps and supports each other. It has given me another purpose in life.”
