Amazing. And better than ever. We’re ready to leave 2020 in the past and forge ahead with a renewed sense of hope and optimism.

This doesn’t just apply to the end of COVID-19. This also applies to the bright future ahead for kids with Down syndrome. That’s why this year’s theme is “no limits.”

If you look back a few decades, there were few—if any—opportunities for people with Down syndrome. They were institutionalized and hidden away. Doctors dwelled on their learning issues, delays, medical problems and limits. If they went to school, there were no resources, few teachers who believed in them and very little access to a fulfilling education. If they wanted a job, the outlook was bleak. Most companies wanted nothing to do with employing someone with Down syndrome.

Fast forward to today and people with Down syndrome are everywhere. They’re running businesses, they’re actors, they’re models, they’re getting married, they’re doing Ironmans. People with Down syndrome have proven their abilities, value and worth. There are truly no limits when it comes to what people with Down syndrome can and will accomplish.

GiGi’s Playhouse was built on this belief. From the very beginning, GiGi’s Playhouse was in business because they knew that people with Down syndrome are capable—that they really have no limits.

Although society has limited opportunities for people with Down syndrome, GiGi’s Playhouse does the opposite. They see the potential in each child and adult with Down syndrome, and they help them reach it. Although families of people with Down syndrome may have been limited by their ability to pay for therapies or classes in the past, GiGi’s Playhouse combats this by offering free programs for everyone. They do this simply because they believe in the abilities of each person with Down syndrome.

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we know that there are no limits to what people with Down syndrome can become. When you walk inside our doors, barriers are removed—and all that’s left are people who believe in every person with Down syndrome. With an attitude like that, the potential is unlimited. And it’s clear that people with Down syndrome really do have no limits.

As we head into 2021, the future looks bright. Amazing.
