When Tylee’s family relocated to the area from out of state, they were still getting acquainted with local resources and navigating what supports were available. That\u2019s when they discovered GiGi’s Playhouse Canton, and we have enjoyed getting to know their family over the past year. This summer, Tylee participated in our Amina Grace Speech and Language Program<\/a>. Tylee has also participated in one-on-one literacy and math tutoring, as well as our signature GiGiFIT program, building strength, coordination, and confidence through purposeful movement. The growth Tylee has experienced during her programs this summer, particularly speech therapy, was truly inspiring!<\/p>\n\n\n

Tylee was introduced to an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device for the very first time. In just a few short weeks, she began combining 3-to-4-word phrases, expressing herself with growing independence and confidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through engaging games and hands-on activities, Tylee explored her device layout, practiced turn-taking, and increased joint attention. These fun interactions didn\u2019t just boost her AAC use, they also encouraged more verbal speech along the way!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tylee’s progress is a shining example of what’s possible when the right supports are in place. We’re incredibly grateful for our strong partnerships with Kent State University and the University of Akron, whose master’s level clinicians volunteer to bring passion, professionalism, and heart to each session. Their dedication helps make moments like these possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This life-changing program is offered 100% free to families, thanks to the generosity of the Amina Grace Memorial Fund<\/a> and other donors. Their continued support empowers individuals like Tylee to find their voice.<\/p>\n\n\n
