Where it Started; Where We are Now<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At GiGi\u2019s Playhouse, every milestone matters. We celebrate the little wins, the big breakthroughs, and everything in between. This May, we are thrilled to highlight one of our shining stars, JJ, as our Best of All. Since joining the Destination Discovery program in April 2024, JJ has made incredible strides that have filled our Playhouse with pride and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JJ knows that the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month is GiGi\u2019s Day, and he tells everyone about it! That enthusiasm is contagious, and so is his smile. When he first joined, JJ was a bit more reserved, but today he confidently joins his peers in the multi-purpose room for open play, gross motor activities, and socialization. He has stepped out of his comfort zone and is actively engaging with friends, bringing out the best in himself and everyone around him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrating Each & Every Milestone <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of JJ\u2019s recent Best of All moments happened during our Easter celebration. We learned from his mom, Kristi, that JJ absolutely adores the Easter Bunny. In fact, it was hard for him to say goodbye when visiting the Bunny at the local mall. But at GiGi\u2019s Playhouse, JJ got another magical chance to meet his favorite floppy-eared friend at our Easter family event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joy on JJ\u2019s face was unforgettable. Not only did he get those coveted hugs from the Easter Bunny, but this time he shared that joy with his GiGi\u2019s friends, showing patience and kindness as he let others take their turns. It was a moment of a pure Generation G heart\u2014inclusion, friendship, and joy all wrapped in one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But JJ’s growth doesn\u2019t stop there. This summer, he\u2019s taking on a brand-new adventure: baseball! His parents beamed with pride as they told us about his first team experience. After team picture day, JJ cheered with excitement, “I have a team! I have a team!” The happiness in his voice and the pride in his parents\u2019 eyes said it all. These are the moments that define what it means to reach your Best of All.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JJ\u2019s journey is a powerful reminder of why GiGi\u2019s Playhouse exists. Our free, purposeful programs are designed to empower individuals with Down syndrome to thrive at every stage of life. But it\u2019s the community, the volunteers, and the families that create the magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you, JJ, for bringing your light to GiGi\u2019s. Your energy, love for your team, and joy in every new experience inspire us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
