Each week, Adonis is eager to come to GiGi’s Playhouse for GiGi’s Kitchen Kids. He never misses a beat on Tuesdays, reminding everyone, \u201cIt\u2019s time to go to GiGi\u2019s!\u201d Adonis\u2019s enthusiasm for the program doesn\u2019t stop in the kitchen. He\u2019s so excited about GiGi\u2019s Kitchen Kids that he\u2019s now recruited his sister to join in on the fun! Between sessions, he practices his culinary skills at home, experimenting with his own recipes, measuring to his heart’s content, and proudly sharing his creations with his family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining GiGi\u2019s Kitchen Kids, Adonis was very selective about his food, often preferring to stick to the familiar and comforting foods like cheese or chips. New foods felt like a big leap, but his journey with us has been remarkable. With the support of our encouraging team of volunteers, Adonis has bravely ventured beyond his comfort zone, tasting flavors and textures he once avoided. He\u2019s even tried onions recently, a food he previously wouldn\u2019t go near. Adonis is taking steps each week, becoming a little more adventurous with every bite!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

During each session of GiGi\u2019s Kitchen Kids, our team would encourage Adonis to add just one new food to his plate. We\u2019d hold up something like a grape or a sprinkle of granola, asking, \u201cWhat do you think, Adonis?\u201d With a big smile, he\u2019d laugh and say, \u201cNooo!\u201d as if to playfully protest. But then, in a burst of courage, he\u2019d grab the new food and take a bite. His expression would shift to one of curiosity, and sometimes, he\u2019d nod approvingly, discovering he liked it more than he expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These moments, filled with laughter and a touch of adventure, have become our favorite part of the class. Watching Adonis tackle new flavors with humor and courage has been inspiring. Each new food he tries brings him a step further on his journey, and we can\u2019t wait to see what he\u2019ll try next!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our GiGi\u2019s Kitchen programs are designed to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle and early exposure to practical cooking skills. Under the guidance of program leaders, participants will engage in activities designed to promote healthy eating habits, kitchen safety awareness, food preparation skills, self-confidence, and social skills by applying learned skills as they prepare and enjoy a shared meal\/snack!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
