IMPACT:\u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Playhouse Amina Grace speech and language program provides youth, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills. Effective enunciation, clarity of speech, word order and message meaning are paramount to fostering greater self-confidence, comprehension, problem-solving, school readiness, social skills, independence, and overall quality of life.<\/p>\n

$50,000+\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0Series of Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0Our FREE\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0programs combine physical therapy with a strong fitness\u202ffocus and\u00a0an ultimate goal\u00a0of success and improved movement.\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0was created in collaboration with skilled Physical Therapists who work specifically with individuals with Down syndrome. The\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0programs are designed to address common issues for individuals with Down syndrome including hypotonia, excessive joint laxity, and decreased balance. Every\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0program is safe, effective, and progressive.\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0helps participants build strength, endurance, power, joint stability, balance, and movement control.\u00a0GiGiFIT\u00a0empowers participants to be more independent and confident in their abilities while improving their overall health and wellness.<\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0The\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Career Development Programs are progressive learning programs. They are designed to motivate adults with Down syndrome to achieve their highest potential in the world through innovative, educational, goal-development and small group skills instruction, health and wellness, career skills, empowerment, community engagement and exceptional work opportunities.\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Playhouse offers a three-tiered career development program that prepares adults with Down syndrome to gain meaningful employment\/volunteerism in their respective communities. Social focus is to help communities gain a stronger understanding that promotes an environment of inclusion and acceptance for individuals with Down syndrome. To remove potential barriers for our families, participation in these programs is at NO COST to our participants.\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Career Development Programs have various positive impacts on adults with Down syndrome and on the community at large. Every interaction and friendly conversation\u00a0reminds\u00a0the community that stereotypes and discrimination toward people with Down syndrome must change. In doing so, more employers will seriously consider hiring ready and willing candidates with Down syndrome allowing communities, companies and people to grow stronger together.<\/p>\n\t

GOLD LEVEL<\/h3>\n

$5,000\u00a0Accessible Entryway<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPACT:\u00a0<\/strong>Our mission is to spread a global message of acceptance for all. Everyone is welcome to the Playhouse regardless of ability, and accessible entryways will make it that much easier for people to utilize our facility.<\/p>\n

$5,000 Playhouse Training and Support<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPACT:\u00a0<\/strong>We are 99% volunteer run!\u00a0 Training staff and volunteers takes time and resources, and we’ll gain lots of assistance\u00a0form\u00a0the\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0National Office to get this done, but it is not free to execute.\u00a0 For our staff, board members, and key volunteers, the\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Annual National Leadership Conference in Chicago is pivotal for training, networking, and gaining inspiration from the 40+ other locations.<\/p>\n

$5,000 Billboard Advertising<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPACT: A hidden gem that needs to be uncovered. GiGi’s Playhouse is not yet well-known across our community, and we want to change this by spreading the word and getting our name out to support more families and educate our communities to be more accepting, generous, and kind.<\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0100% of\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0programs are free to families and are therapeutic or educational in nature.\u00a0 Each one is facilitated by a trained volunteer, many of whom are therapists and educators.\u00a0 Whether the focus is gross motor skills, fine motor skills, social development, speech and language, fitness, or career skills, every program at\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0playhouse is purposeful and progressive.\u00a0 We focus on the\u00a0needs\u00a0specific to the Down syndrome community and teach in a way they learn best.<\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0Support a community awareness event for new families, volunteers and\/or prospective donors to show people what the Playhouse is all about and the impact it makes\u00a0to\u00a0families, volunteers and community members.<\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0With over 50+ brick and mortar locations across the United States and Mexico and 200 inquiries to start new locations all over the world,\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Playhouse is the ONLY network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers. Every day, we provide FREE, life-changing therapeutic, educational and career training programs for 30,000+ individuals of all ages.\u00a0We want to share the work we are doing with the community through images and stories.<\/p>\n

FRIEND OF THE PLAYHOUSE<\/h3>\n

$500 Building Sign<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0Why fit in when you can stand out? New signage for our building will allow more visibility\u00a0and allow us to drive our mission through piquing the curiosity of those who may see our sign and stop in to learn more so we can continue to educate and inform\u00a0others about the importance of inclusion and acceptance.<\/p>\n

$100 Celebration Basket<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPACT:<\/strong>\u00a0Often, when families walk through the doors of\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Playhouse, it is the first time they hear the word “congratulations” and the first time they are celebrated for having a baby with Down syndrome.\u00a0The Celebration Basket is a gift of resources and congratulations from\u00a0GiGi’s\u00a0Playhouse to a new family. Although you may not welcome a new family daily or even weekly, these interactions are among the most important moments within our Playhouses\u00a0and will never be forgotten.<\/p>\n\t
