Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day!

Every year on March 21st, we come together to raise awareness, celebrate inclusion, and recognize the incredible contributions of individuals with Down syndrome. This special day—3/21—symbolizes the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome that defines Down syndrome. At GiGi’s Playhouse Canton, we honor this day by amplifying voices, sharing inspiring stories, and spreading a message of acceptance for all.
Join us as we celebrate the joy, strength, and limitless potential of the Down syndrome community!
World Down Syndrome Day Dance Party!
Put on your crazy socks and your brightest neon outfit and join us to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day! We will be hosting a dance party at the Playhouse with light refreshments on Friday, March 21st from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Bring the whole family in for a fun time at GiGi’s! This is the perfect opportunity to gather and get to know other GiGi’s families! Purposeful activities, games, information and refreshments will help to create friendships and memories!
Fundraise With Us
We are funded solely by the generosity of our community via grant funding, private donations, and fundraising events. For our next fundraiser, we’re gearing up for our Dash for Down Syndrome, and we need your support!
- Create a team or register as an individual (early bird pricing ends 3/21!)
- Speak with your company about sponsoring our event! There is a sponsorship level for every company, and this will apply toward your team’s fundraising total
- Be our largest team or our top two fundraisers for some extra special prizes!
- Get creative with your fundraising and we can apply it toward your team’s total! Some ideas include hosting a bake sale, filling a water bottle with dimes in your workplace or classroom, getting your business to roundup purchases to donate the proceeds toward GiGi’s, making a signature menu item at your favorite restaurant with the proceeds donated to the Playhouse, and more!
School Tools
Whether you’re a teacher, parent, sibling, or student; we have a curriculum centered around our #GenerationG mission of acceptance for all. This curriculum is provided by our National Playhouse to build awareness and create an accepting environment for everyone, regardless of ability or diagnosis.
In this toolkit, you’ll find curriculums for all ages, posters, activity books, and printouts for a bulletin board! P.S. You can ask our Site Director to come to your school and do a whole presentation! Email mvance@gigisplayhouse.org to arrange a special school visit.
