The Evolution of an Event: A Night for GiGi’s

At GiGi’s Playhouse Canton, we strive to create events that bring people together, celebrate inclusion, and support our mission of changing the way the world views Down syndrome. Over the years, one of our signature events has evolved, not just in size and impact but also in name. Each change has been intentional, reflecting our growth, our community, and the heart of why we gather.

When this event first began, it was known as Ladies Night Out – a fun evening designed to bring women together in support of GiGi’s Playhouse. As the event grew, we realized that our message of inclusion needed to be reflected in the event name itself. This led to the shift to A Night Out in 2023, signaling that the evening was open to everyone, not just women.

As we continued to shape the event’s identity, we introduced A Night with the Keys for GiGi’s in 2024 to highlight our incredible entertainment, the Cleveland Keys. The dueling piano group became a beloved staple of the evening, and we wanted to emphasize their role in making the night special.

This year, we are embracing an even greater focus on our mission by introducing the event as A Night for GiGi’s. This name encapsulates what the evening is truly about – coming together to support our Playhouse, our families, and our incredible participants. While the Cleveland Keys will still be providing their signature high-energy performance, our priority is ensuring that every guest understands why they are there: to celebrate and support individuals with Down syndrome. Additionally, we are thrilled to showcase a performance by our signature dance program, highlighting the talent, dedication, and joy of our participants.

A name may be just words, but words matter. They help tell our story, shape perceptions, and reinforce our mission. We are excited for A Night for GiGi’s to continue growing, welcoming even more supporters, and making an even bigger impact.
