Best of All: Hadlie

Hadlie is 3 years old and is a newer Playhouse participant who began speech therapy in the Amina Grace Speech and Language program with us this spring. Hadlie comes prepared each week with her backpack and loves coming to “school” at GiGi’s and meeting with her “teacher” Ms. Lauren! We first met Hadlie at our Trunk or Treat event in October, then a few months later her family decided to begin registering her for programs at the Playhouse! Hadlie’s parents have shared that she is very shy when it comes to new environments and people, often getting startled by sudden movements in interaction with peers or loud noises.

My favorite Best of All moment with Hadlie so far has been her participating in a shared activity (the parachute) with a peer. Hadlie can be very shy, so she is hesitant and avoidant to interact with peers. Participating in a shared activity was a biggg step for her! I can’t wait to see her future “Best of All” moments  throughout the remainder of the program ☺️.

The GiGi’s Amina Grace Speech and Language one-on-one program provides youth, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills. Effective enunciation, clarity of speech, word order and message meaning are paramount to fostering greater self-confidence, comprehension, problem-solving, school readiness, social skills, independence, and overall quality of life.

Way to go, Hadlie!!
