COVID-19 Update: March 2022

In light of the dramatic drop in COVID-19 cases nationwide and the drop in the Omicron surge, GiGi’s Playhouse is updating its COVID protocols. As a community, we continue to be committed to minimizing the spread of illness for our Playhouse community and beyond, and support the needs of our families. Please note the following updated protocol:

  • Masks: Optional
  • Social Distancing Protocols: Optional 6 feet apart
  • Health Screening Questionnaire: Updated questionnaire to complete upon entry to the Playhouse each time upon arrival

Despite these changes, we remain in compliance with any local government standards in place in the community as they evolve.

We commit to maintaining consistent cleanliness and handwashing standards, and to continue to provide a sanitizing station at entry and hand sanitizers throughout the facility. Face masks will remain welcome for any who choose to wear them, and we will continue to provide masks for those in need.

ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE STANDARDS

There is no change to the isolation and quarantine standards at this time.

Most transmission occurs in 1-2 days before symptom onset and the 2-3 days after. GiGi’s is leveraging the CDC’s 12/27/2021 updated isolation and quarantine standards here. A summary of the standards is below.

If You Test Positive for COVID-19 (Isolate)

Everyone, regardless of vaccination status.

  • Stay home for 5 days.
  • If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you can leave your house.
  • Continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.

If you have a fever, continue to stay home until your fever resolves.

If You Were Exposed to Someone with COVID-19 (Quarantine)

OR
Completed the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months

  • Wear a mask around others for 10 days.
  • Test on day 5, if possible.

If you develop symptoms get a test and stay home.

If you:

Completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine over 6 months ago and are not boosted
OR
Completed the primary series of J&J over 2 months ago and are not boosted

Are unvaccinated

  • Stay home for 5 days. After that continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.

Thank you for your commitment to keeping others safe!
