Volunteer Spotlight: Amy

I am a mother to two children, our youngest (20) has DS. Since his birth I (we) have worked to let the world know that this is not a death sentence, but one of the greatest blessings you will ever receive. 

My favorite things are: music (80’s, classic rock hair bands, classical, country and Christian). I love going to concerts, reading historical fiction, being by a lake to just sit and be still. I love Italian, Indian, Mediterranean food. Amazon seems to be my favorite place to shop these days 😊. Favorite season is spring, everything is coming back to life and is new. 

I learned about GiGi’s Playhouse through a group of moms that wanted to bring it here for us. My son prompted me to be involved. I volunteer for programs and events and my family helps lead LMNOP once a month. 

My favorite experience at the Playhouse is seeing my son get so happy and say GiGi’s Place every time we show up. This is a place where he has friends and fits in.
