When Freya Thomas first walked through the doors of GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Atlanta in March 2024, she was simply looking for a place to fulfill her volunteer hours as a member of the Milton High School Honor Society. What she found instead was something much more meaningful \u2014 a vibrant, welcoming community that stole her heart.<\/p>\n\n\n

Since that first visit, Freya has been a dedicated and consistent volunteer, forming connections with our participants and making a lasting impact on everyone she meets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI love coming to GiGi\u2019s to volunteer and see all the kids’ sweet faces and helping! All of the staff have been amazing and so supportive. I appreciate everyone here so much! Freya\u2019s joy for giving back didn\u2019t stop at weekly volunteering. In March 2025, she took her support a step further through her personal initiative, HopeRoute.org<\/a><\/strong>, a foundation she co-created to spread kindness and give back to communities in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of her mission, Freya launched a fundraiser for GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Atlanta, and the results were inspiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With generous support from Craneware Cares, Milton Montessori, and proceeds from her own YouTube channel, Freya raised funds to purchase several items from our Amazon Wish List<\/a>. From program supplies to Playhouse essentials, her donations directly impact the experience and growth of our participants across all age groups.<\/p>\n\n\n

What makes Freya\u2019s story so special is the way she\u2019s turned a simple volunteer role into a personal mission \u2014 spreading awareness of our work to companies, schools, and her online audience. She exemplifies the kind of leadership and heart that helps us fulfill our mission of changing the way the world views Down syndrome and sending a global message of acceptance for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are so grateful to Freya for her time, energy, creativity, and generosity. It\u2019s volunteers like her who bring our Playhouse to life \u2014 and we can\u2019t wait to see all that she continues to accomplish!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
