We were thrilled to welcome a fantastic group of volunteers from Global Payments<\/a><\/strong> to GiGi\u2019s Playhouse for their annual service day! Their team brought incredible energy, heart, and hands-on support that made a big impact on our adult programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day was filled with connection, fun, and lots of smiles. Volunteers jumped right into our activities\u2014joining in on lively games such as Headbands and Charades, where laughter and teamwork stole the show. It was a beautiful reminder of how games can break down barriers and build community.<\/p>\n\n\n

During our GiGiFIT Adults<\/strong> session, the Global Payments team supported our participants through strength, balance, and movement-based exercises. Before diving into the workout, Andi, our GiGiFIT Program Lead, took time to share the mission behind the program. She explained how GiGiFIT is a national program created specifically for individuals with Down syndrome, developed in collaboration with physical therapists and health professionals to meet their unique needs. The curriculum focuses on building strength, improving motor skills, and increasing confidence\u2014empowering participants to take ownership of their health and well-being. The volunteers were all in, cheering on participants and even joining in for a few squats and stretches themselves!<\/p>\n\n\n

Then it was time to head to GiGi\u2019s Kitchen<\/strong>, where we worked together to prepare delicious and nutritious grain bowls<\/strong>. The volunteers helped wash, prep, slice, and dice fresh vegetables while encouraging our participants as they learned and practiced new cooking skills. Their patience and positive attitude made the kitchen a joyful and empowering space.<\/p>\n\n\n
